Never forget what happened to Australian UniSuper when google accidentally deleted their account. https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/article/2024/may/...

"More than half a million UniSuper fund members went a week with no access to their superannuation accounts after a “one-of-a-kind” Google Cloud “misconfiguration” led to the financial services provider’s private cloud account being deleted, Google and UniSuper have revealed."

I remember having an O'Reilly book titled "The Whole Internet". Hilarious concept. Gopher was pretty cool at the time.

"If you’ve notices, all of that happened preety quickly." is an odd phrase.

The issues listed are Finder issues. I haven't seen them. Finder is vulnerable to connected storage devices. I did have a dodgy USB drive connected to one machine and all sorts of weird things happened, such as beach balling, until I disconnected it.

One problem of having old WWDC content available is that it is confusing for a developer searching for how to do something to be shown deprecated approaches. It's hard enough finding the right way to do something in Swift with all the old versions of the language around.

CP/M for OS X 5 years ago

Anyone know how to run this on Big Sur? I've built the project and it runs but there's no terminal window and the New menu item is dim. I looked at all the forks but most are very old. I guess I need a CP/M disk image?

Thanks for that. I'm using Safari on macOS and got no images in the article - the ads work flawlessly though. Clicking on them works. I assumed the site had been Hackernews'd
