A company needs to be valuable today with growth investments that can make it more valuable over time. That is what a stock valuation is. If Zuck had raised bonds or sold his stocks & funded his Meta madness, then he could have used the current cash flow into improving the operations of the current business, improve the margin & manage business threats to maintain the market position. He is definitely a kid without any adult supervision at this point.

Why would new employees (at current quality or better) would join his mission of self-destruction?
How will zuckerberg make his employees work hard when the stock market keeps killing their motivation? Or those 70K+ are mercenaries of his madness? I think he should be replaced by a mature CEO who can balance growth & value (like other tech companies)
Agree. I am not going to invest into dual-class share companies anymore. Learnt hard lesson with FB
Right. Now that most of us in public know how he thinks & acts, we still believe that the president of the company took action on her own. Since "union" is being supported by the socialists, employers are crushing any organization attempts, thats all.
About 1/6 of the pay comes from his pocket
Sorry, pls explain me this business logic. 1/6th is his ownership which is mostly tied to stocks. The pay comes from liquidity(arising from sales, selling bonds & any additional stock dilution from the organization) Unless I am completely misinformed about how business accounting works. Ownership doesnt pay unless they sell their stocks to pay(which he did through raising funding through stock hypothication in the past)
From a recent Bloomberg article: Wealth of bottom 50% doubled between 2020-2022. Top 1% rose significantly. While the remaining 49% didnt budge much. Interpret it for your supply chain concerns.
2009. Thats how "growth" came from last decade & half. People never realized that & majority will never. Stocks/Home prices will keep going up to infinity crowd thinks its a hoax.
I am amazed by so many who are defending Musk for his actions. I hope they would consider working for him in one of his companies & enjoy a life of subordinateship. Afterall Musk needs such workers - smart, hard working & yet someone who doesnt question him. I think dictator is the nearest term for it in the dictionary?
He doesnt pay from his pocket. He may be founder & CEO. But he is an employee as much as those five.
After having worked for very long time(compared to people who wish to become managers just few years into the job) as a SDE & being managed by many different style of managers, I have found poor managers mostly are failed up engineers or those coming from non engineering background. Also, the tech rush has brought so many "managers" from outside the US who not only lack real management skills, but dont adopt to the US management style. I really worry for the future of the silicon valley if these sort of mediocre managers start to manage high performers in top tech companies.
