It’s not total bullshit, whatsoever. I’ve known a good few Muslims, who would not use alcohol, as either a disinfectant, or topical liniment - due to their Wahhabi interpretation, of the Quran.
There’s a whole thread, from over a decade ago, on a Kung Fu forum, where a “revert” went into depth, about why he could not purchase, or create a bruise liniment, from ethanol, because he claimed it went against the Quran. This despite the fact, the end product would be highly poisonous, and thereby de facto denatured…
I’ve also trained with people, who would only use liniments made from vinegar, as the base, for similar reasons.
So yes - some Muslims, will not use any alcohol products, whatsoever, for any reason!

The latter period of the G5, were water cooled, IIRC. They suffered from problems due to corrosion, though.

Low Voltage is a very specific term […]
It’s not a very specific term, at all - and is dependent upon context - per the first sentence, of the wikipedia article, you linked, stating:
In electrical engineering, low voltage is a relative term, the definition varying by context.
The various standards, mentioned in that article, are in relation to “installations”, and power distribution. The standard in the UK (BS 7671), defines “high voltage”, as >600VAC difference between conductor(s), and earth.
A voltage greater than mains voltage, in any item of domestic electrical equipment, is absolutely “high voltage”. Hence why valve amp power supply terminals, are considered high tension (HT, i.e., high voltage), despite not exceeding the threshold, claimed in wikipedia.
Aside from browsing history, privacy implications, some ISPs insert adverts, into the HTML - possibly opening up the user, to drive by browser exploits…
The reality is, it’s not complicated to add HTTPS, as a feature, so there’s no good reason as to why it’s not implemented - aside from incompetence, or trying to save money, on staff?!
Your argument might hold water, if the standard for productivity was simply churning out code. The Linux/Unix world, already has tools, like nano, for such users.
The software world, might be better served, however, if programmers slowed down, and engaged their brains, before bashing keys. I’ve solved most of the difficult problems, in my programming life, in the bath - where I can allow my mind to wander, and come up with the best solution.

I personally don’t understand why people think such glib, throwaway comments, are helpful. They always strike me, as lacking any foresight.
How many abstractions, on the core tool, are required, to force its stability over time? What happens if poetry introduces breaking changes?
Perhaps it's possible to sanitize often visited websites with DownloadNet? (currently getting aggravated by reddit hiding images via JS code to prevent download / viewing in another tab...)

Shell out for an industrial washing machine like they have at the laundromats. Those things are made to run all day for years. If they break down, they're repairable.
Industrial - or old school, Hoovermatic twin tub, where you can choose the exact length(s), of your wash/rinse - albeit, by babysitting it.

Even with Dualit, I would still only purchase from a professional catering retailer. Just in case, there’s any differences, and the fact that purchasing from a professional catering retailer, implies a greater level of longevity, if it ever did breakdown - for potential small claims court, reasons, in the future.
Regardless, Dualit also pretty much make every part of their toasters replaceable, for this exact reason. Hence why I think it’s one of the only decent toasters, out there!
I’ve had the same experience, with paper shredders - particularly the Fellowes brand, in the UK - which all have a nylon (possibly some other plastic) cog, somewhere to overheat, then break.
Modern retail toasters, don’t seem to be able to fit a proper standard English sized, slice of bread - the size of which, I’m not convinced has increased over time - but rather, the toasters have been designed primarily with US sized slices (which I’m under the possibly erroneous impression, are smaller?!), as the target market.

Exactly! You can still get kitchen appliances that last, but you need to be prepared to purchase pro catering equipment.
High quality toasters still exist - be they in conveyer belt form, salamander grills, or the old stalwart: the Dualit professional models.
The same applies to microwaves, hobs, ovens, ranges (combined hob/oven), et al.

If you read the thread, you will see the claim: ”Info pages are older than man pages (the format dates back to ITS on the PDP-10).” - by a guy, going by the handle @amszmidt - so they’re both, from the same ‘limited era’, near enough.

Yes, all the time. The beauty of Unix style man pages, is they rely on the user(s) native $PAGER - so the search capabilities, are dependent upon what one chooses, for such - rather than the incredibly clunky, GNU thingy, that comes bundled with the info system, unfortunately…
Unix man pages, are also excellent - as they haven’t been deliberately crippled, in order to try and forcefeed us the info gruel… - in much the same way, that GNU Guile, was chosen as the “official” extension language, over TCL, for political reasons.

I disagree on your mortgage point. The whole reason for rebasing to a standard, is to avoid those issues. Where I think the rub is for most people, is they’d have to disavow themselves of the notion, that a property should go up in value.

A better idea, in my opinion, is rebasing the currency, to some form of standard like gold - and ceasing to print pretend money, that only results in currency deflation, and retail inflation.
A rather ridiculous assertion, if you ask me. CSS is quite easy to grok, if one already knows HTML. Now, if one’s using some sort of “framework”, rather than iterating from scratch - then I could agree - but then one has to blame the framework, not the language.
Too many people introduce unnecessary complexity, flinging on framework, after framework, when their time would be better served, learning CSS from first principles.
