My phone gives me a popup on text boxes to enter credentials. There's also a bitwarden button on my keyboard. I scan my thumb and it signs me in.
On my desktop browser, I get a badge on the bitwarden button when it detects a site it has credentials for. Two clicks signs me in. Three if my session times out and I need to put in my master password.
I have a single unique and complex password that I have to remember, and I have recovery keys stored in a physically safe location.
Bitwarden generates complex passwords with a single click, and has excellent integration with the browser.
Password management is sane. You can just use a good password manager and understand how to protect your single master password. Which basically just means never, ever type that password into anything other than your password manager.
ETA: bitwarden also syncs seamlessly between my half dozen different devices/installs. It works everywhere, and if I really cared to I could set up my own server so as to not rely on Bitwarden's infrastructure.
I keep trying to use Jetbrains Gateway. It spins up the IDE on a remote machine and renders it locally.
I honestly can't find a use for it. My personal machines are ancient quad core setups, but I have a beefy server at my disposal.
But the benefit of faster build times isn't worth the hassle. Between the suboptimal performance of the remote interface, syncing files back to my local machine, and all of the little idiosyncrasies of setting up the remote environment, it's still faster to develop locally. I just go grab a glass of water when I start my compile.
This might make more sense if you're working on some C++ monstrosity with millions of lines of code that takes hours to build on a mainframe, but if you're in the region of minutes per build, there's just no benefit.
Or I guess if all you have is a thin client, this might be better than nothing. But then again, you can get an IDE and compiler for most languages on an android tablet. If you have a machine with a processor, it can compile your code.

As to AI, what I want is a LLM acting as a personal assistant fed from a database of all of my daily experiences. My brain isn't that great at organizing and recalling data, so I want to take all of the data I receive and feed it into a machine that can organize and recall it for me. I want a digital copy of my brain that I can search through.
The AI can pick up from my conversations that I promised Bill the TPS reports at 4. Because I'm bad at remembering and actioning on things, it can pop an event into my schedule. Or it can pick up that I said I'd work on encabulator designs in six standups but there's no reference in my commit history and nag me.
I could ask "what do I know about encabulation" and get every article I personally have read relating to mazelvanes and perfabulated amylite. Or "what was that book I read one time about time traveling dogs", or "what's my sister in law's favorite color?", or "what did Kathy say last week about her kid's audition?"
Better yet, it could scan through conversations and guess that Alice wants fancy German chocolates for her birthday because she mentioned it 18 times.
There's just some things my brain does badly at. Just part of the neurological lottery I guess. I want to make up for that by offloading cognitive effort onto a machine. That will massively improve my quality of life, which has the side effect of making me much, much more productive.

This is a topic that's been beaten to death in the electronics industry for years. Oscilloscope manufacturers design and sell a 500MHz scope, but cripple it to 200MHz unless you pay 50% more. Or they put 16MSample of memory in and restrict you to 8 unless you pay $400 for an "upgrade". The cost of buying the lower model and upgrading it later is usually much higher than just buying the high end model.
In any case, it's not like manufacturers are selling the lower tier model at a loss. They're taking lower margins on the crippled hardware, yes, but then they charge you ridiculous prices that are orders of magnitude above the real cost of the additional hardware.

Yes. There are some things that just work better with a dedicated tool. Sure, my computer has a calculator app, but it's fiddly, the keyboard doesn't physically have buttons for all the operations, so I have to go and click on things. If I need to compute something and copy data to/from other windows, I have to deal with moving windows around to make room.
I do use the calculator on my computer. Quite a lot, in fact. But it's just annoying enough that I keep a pocket calculator on my desk at all times.
It's really great for when I'm doing calculations in my head and need to quickly do some operations. It's just ever so slightly easier to slide over my physical calculator and punch some buttons. It helps me stay in flow and keep all the numbers in my head. The calculator app is just a little bit too annoying and the physical calculator is just a little bit more functional.
As for model, no idea. Some Casio scientific calculator. I bought it because it advertised it could operate with hex or binary representation, but I never figured out how to make that work.
