Again, I applaud them for their efforts. I think it is cool. However, it would also be cool to have a standalone crossword app that uses an ncurses-type of library to play crosswords in the console without relying on Emacs. That is all I was saying. I'm not criticizing the author that what they did isn't neat.

Emacs is meant to really be a text-editor. I'm all for utilizing Emacs and Vim to do unique things, like ledgers and time tracking, since those are essentially markup formats for text editing. However, crosswords just seems more or less like playing games in Vim. It is cool and all, like I said, but it seems much better suited for at least a semi-interactive text-based CLI app.

I applaud the developer regardless, but I personally would be much more keen on using this if it was standalone and not dependent on Emacs.

r/conservative r/conspiracy r/donaldtrump all come to mind as communities that (up until one was recently banned) complained about censorship while constantly banning users for providing debate.

Heck, I signed up for Gab and was almost immediately banned from the entire site after sharing my liberal opinion.

Strength through adversity? Maybe this will be the fire needed to improve decentralization and alternative currencies that are more censorship resistant?

That is precisely what IPFS and ETH domains are for:

I don't want this to sound wrong, but I perceive most of the people complaining about censorship to be hypocrites. They'd be the first to censor if they were in charge of these platforms. They are some of the first to ban in moderated communities like reddit.

The reason they're upset is because they are not in control. I think in some ways they are like the people scared of change, and the once change has taken place they are scared of not being in control.

Partially, regulation is one thing but being able to kick someone out of your establishment is also part of the law that has been upheld by the Supreme Court and in the constitution. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of communication platforms on the Internet. If Twitter was the only communication platform, then I would be very upset about this decision.

There are some companies that I do not think should be allowed to ban people, like ISPs.. since many times people don't have choices between multiple high-speed ISPs. However, Twitter is not in that same category.

They already can. No one is forcing you to use Twitter. There are plenty of other platforms, or you can even... wait for it, this is such a radical idea... host your own website.

No, to let them spy on America.

There are several instances of Trump going against his intelligence community, specifically in regards to Russia, to weaken America's cyber-defense. There are legitimate reasons to be concerned that he was being blackmailed by a foreign government to weaken America's institutions, and sow chaos and division.

The best thing we can do is not let history forget what happened today, and what will happen with we let someone like Donald Trump have free reign over the political institutions without proper checks and balances. More than ever, the Democrats need to limit their own powers to prevent a similar occurrence in 4 or 8 more years.
