Big LLMs can run on consumer hardware. It would likely take up less space and weight than getting a person to Mars so it could run locally. Or just eat the 10-40 minute round trip delay.

Normally I’m all for rapid validation of ideas, but this is one of the areas in which I think it is not a great idea.

Just because you are validating an idea does not absolve you from being properly licensed to provide mental healthcare. Be aware you are likely putting the therapist’s license in jeopardy, and as you are offering healthcare services you are likely still required to be HIPAA compliant. There are also possibly even further data protections you are expected to comply with given the likelihood you will have information on mental health, substance abuse and sexual history.

An insane number of engineers fake it til they make it. They do a 3 hour online class, boom, they’re an ML/DL/AI engineer. They fork AI related repositories so they seem to have street cred for it.

What everyone knows in the industry but doesn’t say out loud is that companies hire engineers who are interested in a technology and can be trained for it and engineers want to find roles in which they can train for new skills they don’t have yet.

Also relevant: who’s paying, lobbying and actively working to make sure those problems don’t get solved because they’re quite happy with the economic status quo?

It’s indeed very similar on a micro level.

The hotel industry can compete amongst itself, and increasingly the people I’ve talked to are preferring hotels to Airbnb due to the hidden fees, over-controlling landlords and scams.

Excessively commercializing residential units was creating all sorts of problems with raising rents and wrecking any sense of community for people.

I feel like if you’re having enough incidents where you can accurately calculate a P95 for recovery then that isn’t the metric you’re going to be caring about. Instead you’re going to be focused on change failure rate.

Also for failures I would imagine they aren’t heavily skewed to small amounts.

Just a quick point: community notes existed before the takeover. It was called birdwatch but got rebranded.

They could be held partially responsible as they could have their fund LPs sue them for negligence, especially if they had any materials detailing that they did diligence.

They won’t be though, because everyone would be afraid for future repercussions. That said, they’re on a list of VC firms I would hesitate to take calls from going forward.
