Does anyone know what antenna that is? Ive been meaning to make or buy an extremelely powerful (sensitive?) Wifi antenna for years now. I know nothing about antennas or radios and one of these days ill have to change that!

I thought it was funny how video previews and superchats have been around forever in porn. Google lens made me genuinely excited. The most important bit was also the shortest: designing nets with nets. I wonder what nn experts think of that little sidenote.

Its because math is used as test material. Thats all it is in american educations and many others i might add. Its a fucking crime. All of science and almost everying else is treated similarly. They build tests into the material you are to learn. At the end of the day you get a monstrosity. I say that if we are going to try to hide iq tests inside the material then we should have no qualms about simply giving everyone iq tests separately from learning material. Yes there are flaws with that proposal but it would still be better than what we have now where all of the material is molested. Imagine if people actually got a thorough education. No more grtting to the job only to learn that they didnt teach you what you need to know. In computer science this problem is fucking atrocious.

Why were they going after 1password filevaults? I assume 1password is like keypass, where all your passwords are in an encrypted file? How could they decrypt all those files? Or do they assume people use weak passwords?

They print titanium and ceramics ive heard. Must be expensive. I would be very interested in seeung someone print a ceramic motor, beefed up to account for poor strength of ceramics. Yes most hub motors are closed but its very common for people to drill holes in the walls of the motor to get some air cooling. Less common is actually filling the closed hub motor with oil -- ive seen blog posts where people report that if you get that to work it does wonders for cooling. But there are huge problems with it, mainly related to accounting for the expansion of the oil as it heats up. Even less common is real liquid cooling where coolant is channelled down the axle and into the stator. Doing it with plastuc would mean having some metal inserts for heat conduction to the coils.

If used for anything substantial, such as an ebike that goes fast or up slight grades, this motor would simply melt. Its really cool though. A lot of ebikers fool around with liquid cooling but ive never seen it pulled off. This guy could take advantage of the 3d printing method to add liquid cooling and besides being really cool it might allow the motor to do useful work without melting.

Check out the rust libz blitz, a documentatuon overhaul initiaitive by the rust devs. It addresses all of these issues.

A while ago i tried dual booting elementaryos on my windows machine. Steam and counter strike global offensive work just fine. Half life 2 as well. After realizing that i could play cs on eos, i simply had no reason to go back to windows.

Try elementaryos. Just buy intel hardware and youll be set for drivers. Try it and tell me its bad

Where are all the guys saying that this is just an illusion amd that elon actually doesnt know any physics or engineering, but just is a master salesman in disguise?

I dont have deep knowledge of this but wow, what a laugh this is. Tesla has a huge fleet of vehicles that its training with. Ford bought some lidar stuff. Yeah, once you have an aircraft carrier on your tail its big trouble but ford has directed their aircraft carrier in the completely wrong direction. An aircraft carrier is useless without a captain.

Maybe this is tangential but this is a theme that seems to have infected schools themselves as well. I was recently swindled (yes, straight up swindled) by my university. I go to a uc (not riverside or merced) and the student health and wellness center literally swindled me out of almost a hundred dollars by using fine print. To protect my anonyminity i wont go into details but rest assured a called every authority i could and nothing was done. Consider that and then look at the swelling administration, lack of class availability, the sheer cost of attending and finally and most importantly the lack of meaningful learning. Its all a huge scam. But you need a degree if you want to have a high quality of life (unless youre exceptional in some way which the average dude is of course not) so nobody can do a damn thing about it. Fuck this shitty sytem.

The whole discussion we have is silly. Robots and ai will kill jobs. Sorry but the concept of everyone becoming a programmer or roboticist is a fucking pipe dream. Some people are simply not cut out for it. Even if everyone was perfectly educated, there is no demand for that many people in those kinds of positions and there never will be. Weve already gotton a taste of automation from people doing any work at all for cheaper overseas. The result has been for people to get psychology degrees and other easy degrees and go on to get bullshit jobs in the swelling, fractured and broken systems of beurocracy that are now so common in the west. Why do schools need such huge adminiatrations? They dont. They got huge because people need work and not everyone can be a stem major. So the answer is obvious in my eyes. Sooner or later we will have universal basic income. It depends on how long the overburdened sources of business and psychology degree jobs can hold out before collapsing i suppose.

I started paying attention to people and discovered a lot of this on my own over the course of three years. At some point i realized that whenever i talked to someone their eyes would glaze over and their face would go stony. Then theyd talk to someone else and their eyes would become focused and their face alive and animated. Laughter. I figured out this was because they didnt care about what i was saying or about my opinions. So i tried various things and looked at their eyes. Sometimes their eyes would become alive again and i could tell they cared. Slowly you learn what people want to hear. And its so true about smiling and body language, people feel uncomfortable if you dont project wellbeing. What you need to understand is that there is no logic in any of it. Humans are machines and the algorithms that they employ for attention and emotion are surprisngly uniform and very unintuitive for autists like me and you. Dont worry about the logic of whats hapenning, just think of what their algorithm is doing. Its verry dificult because you cant verify what people are thinking, you cant debug it and you cant start over -- you have to guess a lot. Overall people want to see big smiles and confident body posture. If you are slouched over people dont like it. If you stand up straight you will be amazed at how differently you are percieved. But it all has to be genuine. If youre trying to manipulate and understand people in a clinical way you will fail. All you need is a genuine desire to bond with people and the patience to pay attention to what seems to work and what doesnt.

I should also add that for me, and probably for most people like me, the process of figurimg out what people like and dont like is also partly a process of self discovery. Im not the kind of person thats in touch with himself. Discovering how your words impact other people will also teach you about how your mind, conciously or otherwise, reacts emotionally to the words of others. Overall ive been genuinely excited to learn about myself amd others and use that wisdom to help enjoy the presence of other people. For me its been a very productive process of growth and discovery. I think framing the problem of interpersonal relations within that context instead of the cringey, manipulative context of internet social tips really helped.

Please stop, you are wrong. Im attractive and people hate me. Have you ever considered whats its like to be attractive? People are instantly jealous of you and hate you. And they make sure to lay judgement into you -- if you arent whip smart they will tear you down just like anyone else. I know ugly, average looking and good looking people who all do very well with people and in life. It comes down to your intelligence, not how you look. Please dont mutilate your face like a south korean teenager. Just like them you will find thay its not worth it.

Couldnt agree more. The middle class if the united states is eroding away and it finally has manifested itself in the election of donald trump -- this country is in its final death throws before descending into third world levels of inequality. And yet all anyone in silicon valley wants to do is make the next chat service. Snapchat is fucking incinsequential and stupid. Tbose people in silicon valley drive past dozens of homeless on their way to work and they dont care.

Im new to web stuff and this kind of confuses me. How would firebase ever make money if it didnt get bought? What outcome do investors expect?

Tesla to raise $1B 9 years ago

The one thing we can agree on! Im sure that all fuels will have some limited role for as long as there are vehicles operating in adverse or unusual conditions. Hydrogen systems depend and will always depend on being adjacent to substantial batteries in the cars powertrain. This is because fuel cells can contain lots of energy but are much more limited in the rate at which they can offer that energy. In the mirai, the fuel cell keeps a battery topped off. When the car needs to accelerate quickly it draws charge from the battery.
