And nowadays it offers so much more like the GHAS, codespaces, copilot, actions and workflows etc that companies who get entrenched would need half a dozen different vendors to cover the feature set if they were to migrate from GitHub.

And in general I feel that their gh cli tool doesn’t get enough praise. Being able to do easy API calls and queries for use in shell scripts (or just the terminal) is great, and the gh copilot is occasionally useful as a refresher for command syntax, or for deciphering some oddball git command you found online.

It’s a massive beast to tackle, and few people have a reason to. I don’t see anything doing what git does having a chance at competing with it. It requires a paradigm shift and a completely new product/approach to versioning to break the git dominance.

Definitely. And all of their 25 users. It was literally a non-issue even back then but titles like The Terrorist’s Handbook and The Anarchist’s Cookbook had a lot of shock value.

Animal torture is such a fringe and infinitely small area that even if it’s deplorable it’s not, and never has been, prevalent in any meaningful way.

Funny enough the first fallout we had among admins when we started The Pirate Bay was about a cat torture video that forced us to take a stance on freedom/anti-censorship vs decency and compassion. (The latter won, but not without losses in the team because they found it hypocritical that we “censored” uploads.)

That’s pretty cool from the sound of it, although I read it and still have absolutely no idea what it is, what it looks like, and what actually makes it easier/frustration free to open.

I agree, but at the same time it’s just the flip side of the term “job creation” so can’t blame them.

Isn’t pushing and coercing what’s going on here too though?

With the company setting expectations and requirements while people’s job/career hinges on it.

I would consider Jerry as being corporately coerced here and thus more inclined to act immoraly.
