Altered attempted something similar. QR codes that add a digital copy to your digital collection. The physical card is just a proxy of the digital one. To enter tournaments or trade a card you have to own/trade the digital one. There was an official print service to order physical copies of the digital cards.

Fair, but you usually don't run your project on both, unless you're writing a library.

Pick the target that makes sense for your project and stick with it :)

How does it contradict it? Without any modification/installation you can interop with Erlang/Javascript. How is that not out of the box usability of the Erlang/JS ecosystem? Syntax isn't as seamless as Elixir, but we need a way to tell Gleam what types are being passed around.

Why do you feel like a gatekeeper? Your opinion is valid, it's just that the interop statement was wrong.

Hikaru no Go manga is super good too. Aged very well as well. Manga/Anime from that time usually has some problematic stereotypes/scenes.

I don't like chess, but like go. Go feels way more free form. In chess it feels like every move has been played already and has a name. I feel like I need to study up on all of it. In go there's so many possibilities, I just play something interesting and see where it takes me. Honestly just give it a go. :)

The reason it's not in the language tour is because it's not part of the language itself. There's no async specific syntax or feature in the language itself. They all depend on the target since gleam can compile to erlang or javascript. If you compile to erlang you can use gleam_erlang and gleam_otp to leverage OTP. If you compile to javascript you use gleam_javascript and have to work with promises. It's definitely not just an afterthought and gleam_otp recently had a big 1.0 update.
