Well, I work in weapons industry (I wasn't able to do a thesis because public labs doesn't have money).

So what's wrong with it?

First, things I work on are sold to both sides, in my case to a country well known to shit on human rights... And a few GUI/feature tweak later it's sold to another more respectful one.

Also, in a more general way, the main purpose of it is to kill or fear peoples, peoples with different/unaccepted ideas, peoples who disagree with the weapons owner.

Does it sound right to you?

Of course it's approved by the government, but it sounds way more like a money driven decision than a smart one. And when I ask people how they feel about it, nobody cares, typical responses:

"We are not working on a weapon, we are working on --any subsystem that doesn't sounds like a weapon--"

From my point of view we can't fight terrorism by war or massive surveillance. It's a matter of culture, if everyone knew about the beauty of life, and all good things that she provide, this would not happen.

Your culture allows you to link your actions to different kind of emotions, and especially the one which make you unable to hurt anyone else. This is the way religions (all of them) were spreading peace, way before the internet, when the only culture you add access to was the holy book in the nearest temple. That's what is making us different than these emotionsless animals who are manipulated to kill people and themselves.

So to stop this we need to share more values, more principles, with more people. Values and principles are carried by culture. Now think about the huge amount of free culture that governments and industries are trying to stop, to reduce and to slow down. All these torrents and files shamefully shared from all over the world, this could be the answer.

Legalising piracy and encouraging people to share more, will make the culture spread faster and reduce the number "lost" people, on the long term, or maybe even on the short term with a good old internet buzz. Let's show them how we live and how we think and how good it is.

Instead of changing block size, why don't they change block time? 10/8 min instead of 10min, no latency issue, faster transactions, space for everyone, seems like a win-win?

That's exactly what I think is wrong with systemd. If a script bring a speed issue on start up, it should fixed by optimizing the script, use/create another script language with parallelism and higher pref, or even turn it into a compiled program. This is not supposed to be the problem of the init system developper.

In fact the only purpose of an init system is to start executables in a defined order, not more.

This is going to be like X, a huge pile of unmaintainable code, and that's definitely not the UNIX philosophy.

Google should ask money to keep it secret longer. Around 30 000$ a day IMO. Then give this money back to android device manufacturers scammed by Microsoft.
