You can install Pop!_OS on your machine if you wish to keep the HiDPI screen. I have used it on my XPS 15 for years and it works flawlessly, even with the nVidia GPU!

I would argue that the nature of humanity is to conquer rather than seek power. They often go hand in hand, but not necessarily. Some strive to conquer each other, while some strive to conquer their differences, and some yet strive to conquer themselves (or their personal demons at the very least). The choice of what you conquer is yours. The world may not care, but the world also cannot choose.

Do you have the Samsung NVMe driver installed? I had a similar issue on a fresh Windows 10 install that was solved by installing the driver directly from Samsung (the one for the 950 Pro works if I remember correctly).

Designing and building automobiles without all the gadgets and gizmos present in modern vehicles. A vehicle designed to embrace the visceral experience of motoring and minimizes interference to that experience.

While there is an exam and better employment prospects may be had for those with a license, getting a license usually requires "acceptable, progressive, and verifiable work experience in the industry."[1] This often requires an engineering mentor to assess your work which usually happens if you work under a licensed engineer. Licensed engineers are hard to come by in many high tech and computer industries and with many companies strict rules on secrecy (i.e. NDAs) it can be difficult to get a licensed engineer in your field that is outside your company to assess your work.

I tried to see if there was an opportunity for an engineering mentor at my job (One of the big four) and I was unable to get anywhere. It seems that it is better for our job prospects to get a job at a prestigious/interesting company and gain experience there than try to go through the licensing process.

I think that's to be expected as flat and largely minimalist is the style du jour.

If you're interested in walking, the Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (ihmc: http://robots.ihmc.us/) came in second place at the DARPA Robotics Challenge using force control and capture point dynamics. They do primarily software, but their walking is quite stable.
