So if people buy an acer laptop, acer makes more profit? Quick math - if a laptop is retailing for 1000 and acer makes it for 500(just a random number), due to the tariffs, acer has to pay 550(10% extra) to bring it to the US and now sells it for 1100 due to 10% hike?

profit before = 1000-500 = 500 profit now = 1100 - 550 = 550

So the company is making more profit from you now? What am I missing?

This goes back to the goals vs systems debate that Scott Adams talks about in one of his books. Over a long period of time, systems improve your life in compound.

Its kinda funny looking at it from another country. Before Trump was president, anyone who associated with Trump was labelled every bad word in the dictionary - racist, sexist, etc. If you had said you voted for Trump and supported Trump, you would lose your job - example being the Trumps administration's Publicist(? I dont know the exact job description). She had to disassociate with Trump so that she could be hired elsewhere.

Now since he won the election and the tides have turned, these very people who labelled others and fired people who sided with Trump, when faced with the same issue are making this a big issue. US media and the people there are something else lol.

Also if you guys had the same scrutiny for all the other presidents, your country would have been better. A person who said "okay" to bomb 8 countries and receive a Nobel peace prize? Well played.

I am interested. I went through the website and some content you put out. I feel like you need to pivot this to something more fun. It doesn't look fun atleast to me. Just being honest here.

Here's what I am thinking. Adults who want to play music, generally would like to learn music properly - like go to classes, buy an instrument and use online courses or something.

What you have made, I think speaks to kids more than adults. They would like to mess around with all this, because they couldn't really care about properly learning something.

So you are essentially in the toy business. This is what I think atleast.

I think its more of a lifestyle preference rather than 28h is better than 24h for everyone kinda rule. I, for instance, hate sleeping. I want to maximise my awake hours and sleep when only when I get tired. So this article speaks to me. The only thing I am worried about is long term health problems that might arise doing this stunt.

Also if people cant respect or don't like your lifestyle, I don't see a point in being with them. If they cant move things around or if we cant find time for something, move on. Life is too short to deal with people problems that can be solved just by doing nothing.

My father has a business that sells physical products. We had a salesman that was soo good, that customers used to call us asking us to take back our product because they actually had no use for it. They bought it because he convinced them that it was good for them. The salesman passed away long back. Rest in peace.

Thank you for sharing the mitata tool! I was looking for something like that(for my monorepo).

I was wondering if there is a tool that can profile nodejs code? I did find some options(most of them are web tools) but they dont seem to give out information as much as mitata about what and where my code is used more often although mitata is a benchmarking tool.

What profilers do you use? Thanks :)

So I am working with a new company that has a ton of graphql queries. What I wanted to do was write an integration test for them in the fastest and easiest way possible.

I don't want to sit and read each query to identity where it is in the user flow. So I was thinking if I run this in the background and go through a happy flow, I can get the APIs in order and write an integration test.

I was wondering how it would take in graphql endpoints and convert it to swagger, since its just a single POST API with change in params. But thats more of a swagger issue than the tools. Has anyone dealt with this? Would be really helpful if you could share your ideas too :)
