Classic example of the Nothing to hide argument.

I remember a younger me being dazzled by the colored boot text. Good times!
Nobody is installing surveillance cameras in you bathroom yet.
I don't think age verification is the actual goal... I believe complete surveillance and information control is the goal. Age verification is just the justification they are using to coat the poison pill in sugar.
"If you give me six lines written by the hand of the most honest of men, I will find something in them which will hang him." -- Cardinal Richelieu
Privacy protects personal dignity, not just illicit behavior. We close bathroom doors, keep journals, and have intimate conversations not because we are breaking the law, but because we value personal modesty and boundaries.
We are quickly approaching a time when we are all guilty until proven innocent by voyeuristic power-hungry psychopathic megalomaniacs who cry the old cry of "If you've got nothing to hide, you've got nothing to fear"
And this is how freedom dies, not by the letter of the law, but by the spirit.
That is a very good point depending on the situation. On the flip side, abstaining from the process and remaining silent (but still compliant) can put a spotlight on injustice if there be any.
I have this on 24/7. I like them even when I'm not driving.
yes, there is a fine line between "Don't Talk" and standing up for your rights. I feel like it's advisable to speak up when your rights are being violated. I can't quite put the words on what I mean but I think stating a fact like "This is my kid" is A-ok.
Sometimes it's smart to be silent.

Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.
I don't know... The null set is still a set.
When that happens, they will be able to rewrite reality in real time.
For TRUE offline password storage use "Off The Grid". A cryptographically secure paper based password generator created by Steve Gibson from he Security Now podcast.
Yep, got my wires crossed, thanks for the correction.
You spelled world wrong. China has their social credit, EU has their cameras, America has Palantir, Starlink has internet everywhere, 5G can be used as radar, age verification is being deployed globally, ect... Babylon reborn.
Edit: UK not EU
There is a reason Coke spends ~ 5 billion dollars worldwide on advertising sugar water... It works.
Monkey see monkey do. Simple as that.
Yes, but a fun security nightmare!
I agree, and it wont... We will all be tracked at all times as the new global economy is created.
Biblical times.
And really when you think about it, all AI is is just the a statical recombination of (almost) everything that (almost) everyone has written.
So it's a kind of mechanical recombination of ideas.
Security Now with Steve Gibson. Great podcast about the latest goings on in the tech world and often diverts into neat deep dives into technical topics. https://twit.tv/shows/security-now
Side note: Check out this ultra secure offline paper password generator he came up with based off of Latin squares https://www.grc.com/offthegrid.htm
This is the way
"Everybody was talking about the safety of vaccines"
Every platform on earth Shadow Banned and blocked people if you said anything other than "Safe and Effective"... Real conversation was shut down on a nation state level. Not exactly a scientific or logical way to discuss experimental injectable therapeutics.
Until the next round of lockdowns where we will all be forced to use controlled channels to communicate due to lack of mobility.
An extent presentation (IMHO) by Sam Vaknin on how the very way modern social networks operate even down to their structure are deeply destructive and anti-human. Hate has been and always will be the easiest and most monetizable emotion used by platform operators. Hate requires little complexity or nuance making it ideal for short form viral content where every second counts.
The "Internet Hate Machine" is real and it was created that way by design by anti social deeply narcissistic nerds. Youtube Link: https://youtu.be/Ef7bqgeHenU
Just wait until the AI "layer" gets fast enough to rewrite the web in real time. Text, Photos, Videos, even real time phone calls will soon be in the grasp of the corporations. Forever locking us into our own personal prisons, controlled silos of information perfectly crafted and tailored to extract the maximum value where truth is not just hard to know but is imposable to know.
I'm not sure about computer image generation but you can (relatively) easily fingerprint images generated by digital cameras due to sensor defects. I'll bet there is a similar problem with PC image generation where even without the EXIF data there is probably still too much side channel data leakage.
It's still not cool.
I'm sure there was some meeting where at the end of the pitch deck was some one said:
"...and after people acclimate to them, we'll put ads there! Advertising Directly in the UI!"
First thought that popped into my mind is the quote from Bennett Foddy for his game Getting Over It.
--"I made a game for a certain kind of person. To hurt them."
