Is that true? Many other comments in this thread are saying Apple Silicon has something like 30% better efficiency/battery life.

Thanks for that tip!

Unfortunately, it's still bad. It's a bit better than dragging the handles of the selected area, but if I go to far and want to reduce the selected area, it doesn't work anymore.

I can agree to that, KDE is very good. Sadly my hardware has some persistent issues on Linux.

Also, while ScreenTime on MacOS is very unpolished, at least it exists. I do not think something similar exists for Linux or KDE.

Apple actually finally managed to allow 0 minutes as a time limit. Screen Time really needs to be finished by Apple, with a few more features, like more allowing certain apps at certain times (not just disallowing one set of apps at a certain time).

What he probably meant is that Command+C is copy, etc.

You can’t easily do that because every Linux program expects different things. The hack to make it work is to switch keyboard configs when you switch the application, I think. It’s far from ideal.

This webpage crashed my iPad 6 Gen Safari when repeatedly scrolling down without reading (iPadOS 16.1.1). It’s probably just too little memory, but still, isn’t this just a blog post?

Sounds like the environment of humans is the explanation. If you were to put a whale in a human city, eating and working there, maybe the whale would have the same rate of cancerous cells

The author still seems to be on an Apple Watch 4, if I read correctly. So this seems like a case of Apple shipping a bad update to an older device and not caring. Or OP has a bad device.

Open health app and press on your profile picture in the upper right corner (scroll to the top). Then scroll down and press export all health data. Also OP mentioned the exported XML has some errors in iOS 16, so beware of that.

In iOS 16 it’s tap on the workout, then anywhere under Workout details and scroll a bit. That is really no discoverability issue, because there is even a show more button next to it, that has the same function.

But maybe it changed on iOS 16?

I feel the UI at least is better than Spotify. And you don’t have to suffer from podcast advertisement with Apple Music.

In the end for all of these services you are exposed to the whims of their dev/management team. The only way around this problem is probably a regulation from the government to force services to offer a consistent unchanging api so that third party clients can be build and fix all of these problems.

These days (or always, I don’t know) you can also select print and then tap print in the top right corner without selecting a printer. That will also open the new share menu with the option to save to files.
