I especially want to understand the effects on developing immune systems. There are obvious no long term studies and kids are rarely seriously sick from the virus itself.

The main point of this article seems to be to highlight the 20 million requests per second arbitrary metric.
Otherwise the bullet points are about the functionality in place in the infected clients. The port is likely a detection metric for infected clients.

One of my dad's favorite quotes was "Locks keep honest people out".
Even if you get a secure lock, are you also going to reinforce the door frame? If someone wants in they will get in. It just costs more if you want to make it harder to perform certain type of attacks against your home defense.
