From the list of businesses in this thread this was the one that caught my eye. However, I am Australian and a lot of the time businesses don't ship here. Like you say, it's a physical business, you need to move physical products.

I opened your website and immediately looked for shipping, 'countries you ship to' is nowhere to be found until checkout, where there is a dropdown with no options other than the USA.

They offered Amazon $3B tax breaks, while the city would have profited $27B. The city would have a net gain of $24B.

Now the city doesn't gain anything.

I'm not sure VR headsets are the future of gaming either.

I had one of the PSVR headsets and it makes gaming even more isolationist.

Playing a console (where I believe the majority of gamers come from) is quite casual, you sit on the couch quite a distance from the screen with a basic controller.

Playing on the PC is more serious endeavour, often with headphones and sitting quite close to the screen.

VR is even more serious than playing on the PC, you need a dedicated space (to run around), you're completely cut off from the outside world.

VR means you really want to set yourself up for a long gaming session, due to the headset it is always going to be quite isolationist in ways other avenues are not.

besides getting a few folks home faster.

How is that not solving a problem? Isn't this the purpose of undergrounds/metros?

Can you conconct a scenario in which a hypothetical sabateur manages to weaponize and capitalize on an exploit in Facebook Ads Manager, or some random Uber server with sensitive data, within a week? Sure, but it’s contrived. The risk/reward ratio just isn’t really there.

Sure kill the credit cards who gives a fuck.

Knowing where uber users residents live, their standard time home on a friday or saturday night, whether or not they're throwing up with a chance on not remembering anything (I stole) would be fantastic. Oh, I could also sell this to anyone doing ANY datamining to easily enrich their data set.

This is 10 seconds worth of thought, do you really think the Uber data set has so little value?

All of which is speculative

Just like Gold, coloured beads, or stocks

can't be used for transactions.

Gold is a pain to use for transactions, and so are shares, but they still store value and people continue to speculate on their future worth?

anyone can just create a new blockchain and/or cryptocoin for next to nothing

... and I can take my shiny metal (gold) and mould it into a replica spanish gold ingot, it doesn't mean my gold bar is worth the same as the original in fact it's worth substantially less.

By creating YC Coin, Reddit Coin or Facebook coin you're not increasing the supply of the original Bitcoin you're creating a replica of the original.

In fact, by creating the vast array of coins you have you're actually demonstrating why none of them have value, they're a dime a dozen and none of them are the original bitcoin. But a 'KarmaCoin' adopted by those websites might have substantially more value (but good luck with that!).
