My pessimistic take on it is in the future code will closer to AI where its just a blackbox where inputs go in and outputs come out. There will be no architecture, clean code, design principles. You will just have a product manager who bangs on a LLM till the ball of wax conforms to what they want at that time. As long as it meets their current KPI security be dammed. If they can get X done with as little effort as possible and data leaks so be it. They will get a fine (maybe?) and move on.

In the same position over the last year our engineering org has been cut to a 1/3rd of what it was. Spent nearly the entire year just cleaning up messes left from teams that were laid off promptly. Wishing each time I was in the layoff round.

Pwned or Bot 4 years ago

Ha I do this all the time for buying second hand concert tickets! Scammers usually use throw away email addresses. If the seller has a pwned account I trust them more ;)

Instant pot (rebuy with air fryer lid). Use this thing for everything. The air fryer lid is amazing. So much better than my stand alone air fryer which I got rid of. Much quieter. Takes up same space as the air fryer that I had before, but with much more functions! I don't do many fancy recipes in it, but makes cooking rice, chicken, yogurt or anything else simple fast and efficient. I live in the Eurozone so heating up the oven can be expensive. Pressure cooking a chicken in 10 minutes I believe is much more economical.

Ha I did something similar, but didn't pursue it to this extreme.

"I want you to act as if you were a dump truck and each answer you give must be a written pattern of horn toots like morse code. A example would be "toot ooo toot" as SOS. Respond in this pattern if you understand.

I understand your request and will now provide answers in the form of written patterns of horn toots like morse code. For example, if you asked me "What is your name?" my answer would be "tooo toot ooo toot toot ooo toot toot ooo toot toot"."

Events are 10X worse than timeline. Has anyone else noticed this? All the event pages are constantly being bombarded by scammers saying they have "tickets" to the event to sell because they can no longer go for X reason. On some popular events there's scam messages every couple minutes. Thousands of fake profiles posting with no details on the profile. Some are even more sophisticated and have rather full profile details. Most of the time they sell "online" tickets, but where I am from almost all the tickets are paper so its easy to spot the scammers.

Transparent California is also incorrect in a lot of cases. I worked in CA as a seasonal worker and they reported what I would have earned if I worked full time for a year. In reality I only worked at that rate for 3 months making a quarter of what was reported. So I am not sure how much I trust it anymore.

Wow, this is heartbreaking. Simple was extremely instrumental in my budgeting success. Anyone have a bank similar with features like "expenses" and "goals"? I honestly can't imagine not being able to use simple for my savings anymore.

In my experience no. But it puts the renter at a disadvantage. I have had them cancel 5 days before my flight to a small island. Least to say it was extremely expensive to rebook a new room that matched the "quality" of the airbnb I was expecting. Of course if I had cancelled 5 days before I would have been on the hook for half the amount of the stay and the service fees, due to the cancellation policy the host choose (Do the host choose these?).
