I worked there and I can say that this is not accurate at all. It is very much a blame culture. I've seen people fired for less severe incidents. Beyond the core technology of the Pillar engine, the place is not comparable to a modern tech company in almost any way.
I was on a severely understaffed edge team fronting several thousand engineers at a fortune 500 - every deploy felt like a spacex launch from my cubicle. I have a lot of reverence for the engineers who take on that kind of responsibility.

Is there any open source, embeddable alternatives or frameworks? I've got an ETL DSL that is fully serializable and I've been looking to create a UI tool for it.
Perhaps you can have them provide an access key instead? I vaguely recall seeing a button on a 3rd party platform that let me configure my DNS in Cloudflare to route to the 3rd party. Not sure how that flow worked to be honest, but I believe there is some programmatic way to delegate.

Uploading images from my iPhone to Google Drive results in HEIC files that I have to manually convert as well.
Am I misunderstanding this? My phone would broadcast a daily unique key that could theoretically be used to track my location?

Anyone have any good recommendations on deployment platforms that are cost effective and don't compromise on technology? Think Heroku, but with support for HTTP/2 and internal mesh networking.
It seems to me that the real problem is hiring engineers who only know one language and rest on that language choice for their entire career. If you build an organization of engineers with a versatile set of skills then there is no such thing as a wrong language choice.
Mandate the standardization of interfaces rather than languages and you empower all types of developers in your organization.
Any Java engineer worth their salt should be able to use a JVM derivative. If you hire people who are capable of using multiple languages then you won't have an organization of people restricted to a single language.. and the problem is gone.
Kotlin is a very tame language choice, in what I assume is a very Java heavy organization. Peers should be accountable for learning new languages and following the implementers rule.
Anyone know of a framework for building out tools like this one with our own blocks? I have a use case for an internal tool to enable constrained configuration builds.
If you have a similar use case, you should probably just setup a Kafka and Hadoop implementation. You could probably get a lot better performance by using a shared memory store to keep the intermittent states.

Very cool to see this catching on, similar to the Edge features rolling out of Cloudflare and Fastly. I’ve been doing similar things with Nginx + LUA, and I’m curious about the performance of your V8 runtime. Also, where are y’all located? I’m looking for a change and this is a domain I’m highly interested in.
