Finally!

Trees are fantastic creatures.

(I'd happily go as far as calling them Beings, but I'm afraid it would sound like some kind of a new age esoteric bullshit, even so I'm borderline convinced they are sentient.)

The important thing that fascinates me is how Tree actually work. They are generally perceived as growing from the soil to the atmosphere. However, the opposite is true. About 98% of the material of a tree is originated from the air, namely the carbon extracted from the CO2 content of the air. Trees are literally growing from the air, and piercing down into the soil to get water to run their Calvin cycles to extract the carbon and produce the ATP.

Knowing this, I'd be more than surprised if Trees - or plants in general - haven't had any methods to control their food source: the atmosphere. I believe they do. And by destroying them, we are limiting this control. Looking from this angle, there is very little surprise in the onset of weather extremes.

I summary, I'm very happy with this legislation. I hope this a first step in many that is actually going to help us taming the climate of our planet again. With more trees. Because trees are awesome.

You need to saturate your attention span with running so many agents at once that when you issue the last prompt to the last agent, the first one is already finished. This way you need to continuously concentrate, so flow is achievable.

The difficulty is to break down the task in a way that multiple agents can work on it.

I usually spin two or three major issues with 10-12 agents in total.

The AI rip-off was not just ugly. It was careless, blatantly amateuristic, and lacking any ambition, to put it gently. Microsoft unworthy.

I'd argue that this statement is perfectly true when the word "unworthy" is removed.

The problem with that is that the entity supposed to "bomb it to rubble" and the entity pushing for AI development happens to be the same entity.

Maybe the confusion why people can't see this clearly stems from the fact that tech development in the US has mostly been done under the umbrella of a private enterprise.

But if one has a look at companies like Palantir, it's going to become quite obvious what is the main driver behind AI development.

I'm afraid there could be a hidden math behind this.

As in: cost of a war with China vs. economic cost of China acquiring TSMC tech.

As long as a war is cheaper, the US is protecting Taiwan.

I'm no expert, but it usually comes down to something like this.

Poor Taiwanese people... their security insurance has just been cancelled.

I wonder how many days after the first successful batches of chips coming out of the Arizona fab will China invade Taiwan.

I do hope not, but realistically: with high-end chips being made on US soil, the US will have very little interest in protecting Taiwan, apart from maybe blocking China from also acquiring the tech.

Alcohol is a slow killer. Physical addiction takes about 10 years to form. First, it's barely noticeable. People think it's age, and "after 30 hangover lasts for 2 days". But that is not actually being hang over. It is the symptom of alcohol withdrawal. Mild one at first, but more severe as physical addiction settles in.

Drinking 3-4 days a week seems like "okay". However, it basically means drinking whenever withdrawal symptoms kick in. This is creating a feedback loop, that is very hard to notice, because it is mild, and also socially accepted.

If you really want to know how addicted you are, stop drinking completely for a week.

If you find yourself unable to sleep, or sweating all over the place, or having weird stomach or muscle pain, or have unexpected mood swings: you already have a physical addiction to alcohol.

You can `make dist` on the python repo to build the rpm of whichever branch/commit you want to use. Pre-built ones are also available from nightly build. I still don’t know why you need a separate tool for that.

IMHO it’s solved by installing different python versions using the OS package manager, like `dnf install python3.8 python3.9`, and then creating virtualenv using whichever version you need, like `virtualenv -p python3.9 venv`

Unpopular opinion: tools other than virtualenv are for people who do not understand how virtualenv works. On the other hand: people who do understand how virtualenv works, know it very well we: don’t need the other tools than virtualenv.

I have a Tesla, and I was stupid enough to upgrade to v11 without reading up first. The UI is so broken that I now literally have hate attacks while driving the car. Oh, and the update somehow broke a window controller unit, which had to be physically replaced.

So: yes. I’d gladly go back to v10 if I could. I actually offered money to do so, but - unsurprisingly - I got refused.
