I wish the comeback was minidisc. I was just the right age to think this was the future of portable music.

Mostly because I could record radio, other cds and cassettes onto them.

Due to the time difference, I only login when I’m out for a night out or staying up late. But it’s still an enjoyable experience when I get to log in.

I adore this series and other deep dives like it.

If anyone can suggest others I would be grateful.

My first website was effectively a wiki on different races from Star Trek.

It was plain text.

With a few pages eventually having an image and it was just stiff said about them in the original series, next generation and eventually ds9.

It was terrible but I miss the excitement of people getting in touch with the other details and episode references I had missed out or didn’t know about.

My old work used to give a default month-year-org name and an exclamation mark. The majority of people who still used it was insane. LinkedIn was a treasure trove for logging into accounts.

I’m a mountain biker, I even internally complain about some road cyclists.

The ones who take up far more of the road than necessary, granted because they can, and slow you down prior to traffic lights meaning you hit a red.

But when you hit a red, they swerve onto the pavement, across the junction with the pedestrians and then onwards beyond the red light while I’m still sat at the red. All while not dismounting from their bike.

In the UK, where I live they should stop at the light and not pretend to be a pedestrian. But they’re also entitled to the road, but when they ride in a manner that means I would have to veer well into the oncoming lane to get around them it’s just not worth it. A wee bit if there’s no traffic is fine, but not too much.

Gene Simmons however is a rock star.

If it wasn’t I was going to bring it up, faith in lip synced music telly reconfirmed.

On this I will say they are far more snappy than they used to be, battery life is great if you ask me.

But in real terms I moved my home streaming app of choice to infuse. Between that app and the Apple TV 4K I’ve had since just before they moved the remote to usb c it’s been great.

I will say that it is tucked inside a cupboard and hooked up to Ethernet but aside from that it’s leaps and bounds ahead of the other solutions I looked at /tried over the last few years.

I think they do, my kids play Roblox and Minecraft and buying in app is more expensive (probably to the tune of the Apple fees) than buying it outwith the App Store.

I don’t think app developers were allowed to show that it was x price in the app via Apple and x-fees via the developers own site.

I used to play the games on that when I was a kid at my grand house.

I particularly liked on called bamboozle if I recall. It was a kind of quiz game.

This was definitely a tradecraft code word when two dudes passed a briefcase between each other in a cold park one day in Moscow.

I love the idea of it but I don’t think it’s practical for me.

I think for me it was due to hearing about made up citations being used, I think for legal stuff.

So being able to load a boatload of official datasheets and have them referenced in the design was what caught my eye as being useful.

I seen an LLM, or maybe another variant of “AI” [0] a while back that could aid design of electronic circuits by having a pool of data sheets added for referencing.

As you were querying specs for a board at component level it could give you a schematic, I think, with citations to the actual data sheets.

I suppose the same scale up could be used for systems that needed a varying number of specific power supplies.

I had an f91w until a friend broke the strap, he bought me the 86 as a replacement and the illuminator function was game changing (spent a lot of time in the dark due to work so it was welcome).

My son uses it now, he’s young so it’s a great watch for him.

Blindsight by Peter Watts and I’ve just finished the sea of rust by C. Robert Cargil.

Both are good, sea of rust was a quick read, informative on the world building with a fast enough plot that kicked in early enough to keep me read more.

Blindsight, is a bit unique so far. Definitely interesting but it’s the two parter firefall im reading which combines the second book too.

Is this a case of can’t get it to work or won’t work on it yet?

With some businesses the drive for features may be driven by the number of users using that feature. I wish my Apple TV could add Netflix to the up next based on which profile we were using.

But it’s not a deal breaker, would be nice.

So I wonder if the work required to get it on there would take resources from areas that more customers are using?

I’ve just done my first iPhone to iPhone upgrade.

11 pro to 15 pro.

My wife asked what was new/changed. I said “it’s exactly he same and I like that, but it has usb c, better cameras and battery life and the screens a hit different but it’s still my exact phone setup”

Which is boring, but I kind of like it.

Before I moved from android I loved getting a new phone that was different, then I would root it if no could install custom launchers or OS’s. That was part of the fun and definitely not boring, but I actually like this kind of boring and I don’t think we will see Apple do anything crazy until they make some sort of foldable.

You know because they’re brave.

It was AirPods for me, I was fully android and chrome os (pixelbook), windows on my work machine.

Then AirPods came out and they worked with my Samsung note, but I got an iPhone at upgrade time. 5 years later and I’ve just got my second iPhone and my house is fully in the Apple ecosystem.

The “how do we?” Or “can you setup this” have effectively stopped from my wife and kids.

Tremendous, it’s almost as if this was planned.

I await next week’s deployment.
