kind of what i was thinking, but i didn't want to be a buzzkill. if you can get over the terrible usb charging, an old kindle with KOreader and calibre sync is amazing, and will be a much, much nicer hardware than this thing that only an engineer could love.

this is one of the most engineer comments i have ever read on hackernews. icons are symbols. you avoid all symbols?

dozens if not hundreds of synthwave channels and internet radio stations. but sure, listen to your ai slop muzak.

my ssn (usa) and my credit info (also usa) was already leaked in a data breach. i don't care about my encrypted blob in lastpass being leaked because it's computationally too expensive to crack it (assuming it's not a targeted attack with hostile nation-state level gpu capacity)

Fox to buy Roku 1 month ago

ever since tvOS came out (and by extension, the app store) they've really leapfrogged every other streaming box. I would have thought android-based boxes like Nvidia's shieldtv would have won here (and created a casual gaming platform) but I was dead wrong.

i worked on a roku tv app once upon a time... and their OS couldn't even draw circle primitives. frustrating.

sf has POPOs and you're sort of right - they were pretty easy to access 10 years ago, but the pandemic gave them enough cover to mostly shut these down or heavily discourage access - though plenty remain open : https://sfpopos.com/

those models are light years away from opus or sonnett right now though -- is the context problem really solvable?
