Of course a consistent and humane stance on ethics and human right abuses would address the real issue. I do not believe for one second that its own employee's believe in the stance Blizzard has taken. Will some not care? Of course, it is their right to not care.

Is it feasible to think Blizzard has done risk analysis on the outcome of these events depending on which stance they've taken? What would they lose by taking a negative stance on the matter (which they have done)? They've currently created a situation where players of their games, whom aren't even located anywhere close to China have decided to step down from any blizzard game. What would they gain by taking a positive stance on the matter? Say the Chinese were to cut them off entirely, revenue loss of 25-30, perhaps 35%?

These studio's should not stop publishing their games in China. The issue lies that these studio's happily comply with whatever restrictions a govt is willing to oblige due to possibly playerbase loss. Think lootboxes, forbidden skins in regions, exc... exc..

Companies as big as Blizzard should be prepared to lose 5/10/15% of their playerbase to defend free speech, the thing is they do not care about free speech. All these companies care about is revenue.

AFAIK there are plenty of high positioned people in important positions whom have a special preference to something. Whether it be a kink or a total different view/approach on certain topics.

Does that mean we're going to hunt down every one in a high position because they think outside of the box? Because they have a preference to something society seems not normal? Does that mean we'll need to hunt down every thought leader/high positioned CEO/CFO/COO/board member with public appearance that enjoys the occassional whipping?

This topic is pretty disturbing to me personally. Qualified, intelligent people are criticized/publicly shamed for having thoughts/opinions/preferences which have absolutely nothing to do with their occupation.

It feels to me as if we're, as a society, doing anything we can to remove people who think/feel differently from what they're actually good at/dedicated their life to. My thoughts/opinions might not stroke with what people here have written, if what has been reported is true the behavior is not OK but does that mean the man needs to be removed from a position he dedicated his life to?

I believe the NYAG wants Crypto Capital LTD, not bitfinex/tether per se.

Digital currency can only be the #1 use case if we find a generic, uniform way to pull in real-time real-world data of which we can verify its confidentiality, integrity and availability.

There are several known solutions which attempt to solve this problem; oraclize, bluzelle, chainlink, ...

The title is kind of clickbaitish... Taken into consideration that a miner has to sacrifice ~$80000 (12.5 BTC) I don't see this happening.

TPB has implemented miners over ads and I have absolutely no issue with that whatsoever. I rather have the folks around me hear fans spinning than random russian lady dancing in my browser.

Nice writeup! I have always been interested in how ransomware works and to what extent the transactions can be backtraced. It still surprises me that these attackers seemingly are unaware to what extent bitcoin blockchain transactions can be traced. It certainly took them long enough to make the switch to Monero.

I am an avid follower of the current crypto space and I cannot grasp how unprofessional and immature the IOTA team handles their issues. It's almost as if 75% of the crypto space as of late is ran by children/teenagers/adults which cannot grasp the basic concepts of being civil to one another. This is all very unfortunate for the overall growth and perceptions of the crypto community as a whole
