Calling suburban homeowners grass farmers is an insult to real grass farmers like Joel Salatin and Gabe Brown ;).

I've been this way for at least 3 years and it's not really a struggle in a major metro area. The only times cash is needed is for tipping, and we don't really valet that often or have other need to tip.

yep- much harder to find the time to go volunteer but you're right on that. I don't consider myself a good salesman but I need to sell the idea that doing this would improve their bottom line.

I couldn't agree more re. growing food for personal and community use. I'm currently in the very early stages of designing an app for small farmers and CSAs. Hard to get many farmers to respond to giving me input and share their knowledge. I see a tremendous scope for improvement in the entire user and customer experience of finding and signing up for a CSA (from the end customer side) and then effectively managing and nurturing your customers and reducing churn (from the small farmer's side).

what is your plan to respond with more details at the next step, or when you have your day in court? How are you justifying the request for $1,000 and not more or less? I ask because I would be interested in doing this as well.

edit- I realize that OP could be different from the creator of that website, so I guess that could be a general question to someone more legally informed than I. How does one determine what the right amount to sue for is in a case like this? You are suing for negligence but can't prove that you have actually suffered some damage (yet).

Agree with this- my handwriting has drastically declined in quality since my high school days, where I would still have to hand write all assignments, mostly with fountain pens.

I use one now, but don't write stuff by hand very much on a daily basis. Which is kind of sad, because I agree- it is a an act of craftsmanship.

To start with, I'd recommend buying one of the cheaper Lamy Safari pens with a Fine nib, a plunger (not refills) and some Noodlers black ink.
