I mean the problem being described has nothing to do with US sales though. I'm sure if people ask for the time in London, 99% of they mean London UK irrespective of whether they are US based.

I've seen this topic touched on a few times recently but i feel like there is a major flaw in a the assumption that the current pandemic related loneliness/isolation can be compared to more traditional forms of loneliness/isolation.

Traditionally lonely people don't have anyone to communicate with, people in lockdown do have people to communicate with but now have to do it remotely, just doesn't seem comparable to me.

Speaking for my friendship group that is extremely socially active normally, everyone seems to have happily moved to social media and zoom drinking sessions with little ill effects.

There are tons of Teslas around my area in London. One every Street i would say, about the same level of Porsche.

I don't think this is the case in a lot of WeWorks anymore, i work in a WeWork and the majority of companies are now bigger corporates.

Goldman Sachs just took 2 floors in the WeWork next to us.

It's actually quite hard to find a largeish Co-Working space in London as it moves so quickly and so much space is being taken by corporates buying entire floors.

Now i know it would take a lot for a major company to delay/cancel a release like that, but i think it could be argued that they were dishonest if they knew it would have a performance impact.

You can literally set the Touchbar to just show the function keys.

I keep mine dynamic, have been using the laptop for a month now, and can say there has not been one occasion when the escape key wasn't there when i wanted it.

And having TouchID sensor more than makes up for it.

You're completely right about the economy outside London. I'm from London and love it but i can frankly say the UK's biggest problem is having only one genuinely world-stage level successful city.

Look at our productive friends in Germany, they have Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg.

It "just works" if you fully buy into the ecosystem. i.e. all content stored in iCloud nothing synced via cable etc.

I happen to do this since i tend to need a new iPhone every 2-4 months and it's just easier to pick up a new one, sign in and let it set itself up exactly as the old one.

But anything that deviates from this workflow, you tend to run into problems.

This is such a one sided article. I'm sure that technical co-founders make the exact same mistakes when looking for a co-founder, and the solution would not be "learn to be a business guy, and appreciate the business guy more"

Co-founders are a team and should have complimentary skills. There are far more roles in building a startup that just "idea guy" and "tech guy", so if you are a non tech founder certain that you need a tech founder i would strongly suggest learning other skills that as a team you think you might not possess.

Also asking someone if they know anyhow is not a bad solution to a problem. Maybe it doesn't always work and you have to explore other avenues, but it rarely hurts to ask people as a first move.

We're planning on migrating a single repo to Gitlab hosted this weekend to try it out.

To take advantage of R&D though your staff need to be contractors or UK employees, so more difficult if you already have a workforce elsewhere.

Annoyingly though UG doesn't have the same respect as GMBH amongst German corporate, so if you do a lot of business in Germany it often worth capitalising it anyhow.

I think a major factor in this decision that should not be forgotten is language.

We have a German UG that is a wholly owned subsidiary of a UK Ltd. My co-founder speaks German but without this it would have been extremely complicated to setup and operate the German company.
