The republicans come in screw things up and then the democrats come in and fix a thing on two, they never actually repair things and even continue doing the same things. Obama stayed in the same wars they condemned Bush for, kept the same 'war on terror' policies. Trump on the other hand removed or stopped almost everything associated with Obama. Biden kept the sanctions on China that Trump put in while Trump again removed the chips act and everything else that Biden did. See the pattern here? one party destroys the things of the other party keeps the very same things they condemned the other party for.

My guess right now is that democrats after Trump are counting on coming in, fixing some very minor things while running on a 'everything is gonna be different' platform much like Obama did after Bush.

I'm not saying they are equal, they are different but at the end of the day they both play on the same team so who cares about the small differences?. I honestly believe the democrats are done for, its either that or there won't be a point to them anymore since if they stay the same there won't be any need to pretend anymore as the last cycle of this little game ends with the next Trump.

Both parties share the blame. With Trump some claim that it was Kamala's focus on trans that made the difference while others claim that she didn't focus that much on it if at all. My take is that both parties jump at the opportunity to focus on these lesser issues rather big picture items such as taxes, universal healthcare or anything else that would actually make a large impact in people's lives.

This is nothing new. I remember when Bernie was drowned out years ago and the focus became gay marriage instead of the much more important issues he was advocating for. The blame for focusing on these issues cannot fall just on the republican party. The democrats were more than happy to focus on these issues instead of something that might pit them against those that fund them. If all that matters is who is paying you behind closed walls, then it doesn't matter which party is in power at all.

The answer is quite simple, they just need to make a big announcement that they will be investing a few billions into something that will 'create well paying AMERICAN jobs', keypoint is that they need to let Trump announce it.

It doesn't matter if they actually go through with it or greatly inflate the number like OpenAI, Softbank and co did.

The better comparison would be, would I rather have me, my kids and everyone I love die in a ball of fire or disease/hunger as society crumbles around us or risk the end of democracy and inviting authoritarianism?. I personally would always risk dictatorship, you can fight against dictators but not against death.

I think we have completely different views of things, how did Russia become the nuclear bully?. Are you aware of several nuclear pre-emptive strike plans that have been floating around lately in the U.S against Russia, how can the whole Ukraine 'organic' uprising be a thing when Russia is next door. Imagine if Canada suddenly went through an 'organic' uprising and decided it wanted to join the Chinese NATO equivalent, would anyone believe that possible without prior assurances?, how would the U.S respond?.

The whole 51st state cannot be a Trump only thing, he is too stupid for that, more than likely its some plan that someone told him about it and he couldn't keep quiet about it. Take into account that the whole Ukraine owing the U.S half of its mineral wealth wasn't just a Trump thing, Biden was promoting it too but he was quiet about it.

From my pov China and Russia have been the rational actors, the U.S is acting irrationally as it sees their influence crumble. They are unwilling to compete with China and want to go back to the good ol days when 'organic' coups would just happen whenever a government decided not to take whatever deal they offered.

If anything, it is the U.S that is the nuclear bully.

Honestly I'm glad, for a bit there it seemed like there were some idiots that thought they could win in a direct conflict against Russia and China including going nuclear. Trump was the wost possible candidate in every aspect I can think of except one, he will put his self interest above everything else and is very flexible without any ideological beliefs that supercede his self interest.

There is the option of not having data and code sharing the same stack, that seems like a better solution to me but that's such an option is not usually talked about.

What if instead of wishing for hard times so that we can have "hard men", what if instead of all of that which you know must include a lot of suffering and death in order to make the hard men... What if istead of all of that we just stop putting sugar into every freaking thing?.
