Possibly an alternative could be to offer a bounty on a top you use and if needs x item patched. Instead of getting an interval to do it they could offer it to candidates. This would mean these external patches that often distract internal teams in big companies but are necessary could be turned into hiring opportunities. This wouldn’t totally resolve the problem you pointed out, but perhaps it would give more companies the chance to leverage that option. No?

I don’t believe anything the western media says, so many obvious lies that when they could be telling the truth you have to wonder at the very least how much is a lie and no I’m not saying the Russians and the rest don’t lie to, but i do have higher expectations of our media than others and I don’t think I’m alone in that expectation.

I’m a web dev and I’m wondering if there is really any practical way of levelling up to become an ML Engineer. Seems there are ‘schools’ out there but based on what I read on Hacker News these places won’t remotely prepare me to make that transition.

Not complaining just would appreciate some of your thoughts on what are good options to consider to make that leap.

I 100% agree with you, except I do BELIEVE hybrids are less polluting than both options. Reduce gas by 90% since most communites are around 25 miles. That means a battery that’s 1/10th size, which means mining is substantially lower. Toxic metals also need to be considered and often are not.

The problem I think other people forget is that we don’t actually need to end fossil fuels we just need to substantially reduce the amount we burn. So if vehicles were 90% more efficient then that’s basically all we need in that sector anyway.

1. What is 'recent' messages? That's a big grey area there. They should specify or it's ripe for abuse.

2. If someone suddenly gets 10 reports of abuse then that's a red flag. I would argue that this would require further investigation and by investigation I mean forcing a disclosure such as 1-1 messages.

That's some interesting calculus there. You don't want to wash 2 cups for a total time investment of 60 seconds, so you choose to generate extraordinary waste to save 30 seconds, damage the environment and your health. Makes complete sense to me.

That's what I'm finding. I started with one course because I was worried about time to study and time with my wife and child, but now I'm thinking I could do 2 courses probably without too much concern.

My only worry is the Math course. Not having gone to University or high school in 20 years I'm fearful. The other courses have been easy so far though, but like you I'm working on the field, so it's not so new to me.

I'm there not because I need it either. I graduated from a software bootcamp and I've already been working for 2 yeast, so I'm good. However I found out UoPeople and researched them a bit e.g. called a local college 's HR department to find out if they'd recognize someone with a degree from there to teach and they said yes. My next thought was to review the Visa process for a couple countries; this is my primary interest and motivation. None of them specified where the Degree came from only that it was a sanctioned/Accredited institution.

So I don't really care about the details. I learn more, great, but otherwise I'm happy because I just want to be able to apply to get into Europe or Asia as a software developer in the future and not worry about whether I have enough points, etc to pass the rigor.

All of that being said, the first course was a gong show with lots of academic violations, but like all things in life it's what you put into it and I plan on graduating with Honors, so even if it's a weak degree I'll still be able to respect my work and effort.

I'm surprised they aren't just going with ARM designed chips and moving to a Linux system. This would seem to give them scale, pricing, availability/compatibility and also if they support open source with financial contributions then a really strong level of application security out if the box.

State security is important, but corporate security is critical as a first line of defense, because without those big successful companies and their contributions in taxes, R&D and tech support the state loses flexibility and top talent. Then a state will lose ground in preservation of their independence.

If it's not then it seems an excessive amount of engineers at one time even for Intel. The goal would seem to be to cull the whole team.
