Is Ethereum a "dangerous" technology to play with? With regards to contracts that might be deemed illegal.

You can see that he enjoys his writing, and I will enjoy reading this book.
It's tough!
I have a custom PHP app that includes marketing pages.
I'd like to crowbar Wordpress into the server to serve the marketing pages instead, to make it easie to change text over time.
A .htaccess set of redirect rules may indeed work, but it's hard work to keep all URLs working.
Isn't that the difference between Facebook and Twitter? Twitter got stuck on their once-innovative features. Facebook is changing more quickly than people can keep track of.
If I leave my job, can I "log out" of the app on my work machine without access to that machine?
Dealing with retirement investment policicies offered in Ireland, I see two sides:
1. Actively managed funds diversified across equitieis, bonds, cash, etc
2. Index funds for specific indices, such as "top 4,000 US companies"
The danger with 2, they say, is you're not diversified. That'll be up to me I suppose to try to diversity into other areas.
Not in the UK, but I've indeed considered taking photos of every piece of litter I see on my walk.
But my next step is to think, if I'm taking a photo, I might as well pick it up instead of complain.
My next step of logic is I can't conceivably help to change the behaviour of people that live around me in the city to not throw litter, so don't occupy myself with it.
Spam?
This would be reason enough for me to not take photos on holidays.
Documentting my every-day surroundings sometimes seems more worthwhile.
I agree whole-heartedly.
The one point they kind of sold me on is supplements, as in vitamins and minerals. The argument is that even fresh veg these days don't contain the same amount of nutrients as before, so it's a "good idea" to top up with supplements.
Each to their own, I suppose :)
I've quickly reviewed Asana, and actually found it quite complex.
Trello works nicely with our small team. People don't generally have full projects assigned to them, so a Trello card for a specific task to be executed works well.
I can appreciate the ability it gives you to flesh out tasks and projects.
Mindmapping is another nice tool to achieve this. Freemind is a useful piece of software (but doesn't have the future-proofness of plain text.)
Critics say that the science is not yet strong enough to justify widespread recommendations for fasting as a way to lose weight or boost health, and that most of the evidence supporting it comes from animal research.
Should that not be the other way around, that more research is needed before recommending you eat three large meals a day plus snacks?
I agree.
But it makes me think too, other cultures have a strong emphasis on breakfast, and that doesn't necessarily include cereals (but it would include bread). Like France, Germany, and Finland.
I'm in Ireland, where people are definitely under the Kellogg's influence.
I do IF, with milk in my tea and coffee before lunch, and then break the fast at lunch time.
I think I better watch my milk input, particularly on non-lifting days (I'm a real amateur lifting), since it's probably bringing me out of "fasted" state according to my body. I drink a five cups of tea/coffee by lunch time.
Fear is not a good guide, and this can be thought through logically. I am going to follow in your footsteps.
What kind of tasks do you need a computer for? From that you could determine how much you need to spend on a replacement one (probably a free one or a cheap second-hand one).
From an employee's perspective, rather than contractor, I feel that it's fear that keeps me on LinkedIn.
"What if I lose out on an opportunity, or seem strange, because I'm no longer on LinkedIn?"
Using HelpScout's support documentation, I've been toying since with just making a wiki to accompany our company's site.
I love the interconnectedness within a wiki, where its essence is for you to post a page on a particular topic in as much depth as you need, and link to related concepts.
Is that the price for an accountant, right?
I pay a bookkeeper to keep our books, and the accountant only comes into the picture at the end of the year when the company's accounts need to be filed and corporation tax needs to be paid.
Our company pays more for those services than your quote above, but if you're not incorporated as a company surely you could get a cheaper way to file returns?
At the least, you could take the monthly bookkeeping side of things away from your accountant.
Thanks Daniel. I appreciate your insight.
Same here! I went through a startup course, only to realise the I want to be in control, not take investment.
That being said, this made me think of whether I can take better "wealth-oriented" decisions within the business, just like focussing better on finding new users instead of always building my SOPs :) It's always a balance, I suppose.
Is there a good sub-Reddit with interesting topics like this about language?
Just a note for people outside of the States.
I've seen this before, and live in Ireland. It's a very different story here, with taxation on ETF index funds at 40% on gains, calculated every seven years. From my perspective, the 4% rule just does not count. Perhaps running a business is a better way in Ireland, for example.
Is it repeatable, who knows?
But it's a mindset thing too. Do you "give up" and take out the biggest mortgage and car loan you can, or do you act against it and take your destiny into your own hands a bit more.
You can also bring in fantastic home-cooked meals.
It's easy to live your life to keep Google happy. 301 redirects have been an important part of online website life.
But then I do accept this perspective (if it's within your call to take this risk). Just don't 301-redirect it. Let the search engines figure it out for themselves.
If a user has a bookmark to an old resource, then it's a liability for you to try to keep your web of 301s working.
KISS!
The color codings with the names of the speakers helped a lot too. Very different to an unformatted wall of text, which you'll often see with podcast transcripts.
I've tried weaning myself off strong milky coffee, but I like the taste of the milkiness. I get what you're saying, and will try to reduce the milk content over time.
It's all perspective, but that's a big chunk of change in itself. €1,000+
