This is how it will work for most people who don’t care about security and just casually use their devices. My boomer mom does this. It’s better than the notebook full of handwritten passwords she was using.

You have chosen lastpass and a multi-ecosystem environment with windows and multiple browsers on each. You have chosen complexity and this is not a limitation of passsphrases as they have been designed for a more common use case.

I use Linux and apple. I have chosen protonpass for my vault. I just tell my OS to save the passkey there and everything works pretty well. If not, my password is right there as fallback. It’s really not that hard.

Check out bandcamp. It’s artist focused and they have shows with DJs that focus on highlighting new releases.

I even subscribe to one for Metal for $10/months they’ll give you a new album every month like one of those old CD clubs. Interviews and listening parties too.

If you are looking for a sense of community like radio used to have, it’s a lot closer than podcasts IMO. Everyone has a podcast but this is something else.

Have you seen some of these listings? We are talking about retaining walls invented where they can’t exist, work displayed that hasn’t occurred, etc. if you show up to a property and it’s materially different than the picture that got you there, that should be illegal.

You’re right. These are not stupid people. They are likely very out of touch, but they are not stupid. They know exactly what they are doing and they are good at it.

Often times, a stupid take is useful to manipulate people or change the discourse. We argue about how dumb the take is and get distracted about what really matters.

If I like an artist that I find on streaming, I buy an LP and get a lossless download for free. I still have a music library and I will never rent my favorite music.

Artists prefer to connect directly with their fans and BC is probably the best platform for people who care to pay and support acts directly. They have high res downloads and I import them.

Same with a physical copy. A limited edition, better quality vinyl LP is more attractive if you are going through the trouble of curating a collection.

I’ve been curating a music library of digital files since before the iPod was released and I will always go for the highest quality version out of principle. I can always downsample it to any thing that makes sense.

Mid to lower level management often just serves as the enforcement arm for this upper class. They make the “tough” decisions (which are not tough at all if you lack empathy), and force the managers under them to actually implement it (the real tough part)

The managers who have no trouble doing it (because they share the same traits) are obviously the best suited for promotion. And so it continues
