Thanks for taking the time to answer. I already thought about going to at least visit Japan, it sounds like a good place, maybe I'm going to visit and see if could think about living there permanently.

You read forums, buy magazines, or, just buy an album because it has some badass cover. At least that's how I did it back in the days. ;)

Why does he have to be bad at chess if he doesn't like playing online? Also I think "Playing with your grandpa." was just a metaphor for, playing with people you like. Some people just play games to have fun, you know, not everything has to be a competition.

Which is not really wrong. Chess can be fun, but I always thought it is pretty fascinating that the chess champions are viewed by the media as some kind of genius. I mean, it's just a game, not more but also not less.

I recently played God of War on PS5 when visiting a friend, what I noticed was that it was feeling really slow/sluggish, you press a button to punch someone and the whole character animation feels like it take 2-3 seconds. I also think, that in most of the games I've seen, the running animation still looks really stupid, especially in games that try to look realistic, it doesn't bother me that much in games like Zelda. But these days I mostly play round based JRPGs on my switch, so I really don't care that much about graphics or framerates. :)

As someone who mostly plays (J)RPG's nowadays, I have to say that there never was a better time for the genre. So many great new stuff and ideas, but also some incredible remakes that came out in the last few years.

What works for me most of the time on youtube is to just avoid clicking on videos where people put their faces on the video thumbnail, those things always make me angry when I see them. Fortunatly youtube stoped showing me suggestions on the frontpage because I disabled watch history, so I only see the thumbnails on the sidebar when watching a video.

Oh god, 'untapped market potential' whenever I hear that it always comes from people that have the most narrow minded worldview, unfortunatly those peoples worldview wont't change no matter how far they "travel" around the world. They are like "Look at this nice little italian village no one knows about, we should send thousands of tourists there everyday. I'm sure the villagers will love it."

Unfortunately I think they won't learn. What most of them will do is to click the next banner that shows "We detected a Virus on your computer. Please click here to fix this.", but they will will absolutely refuse to click on that popup in Windows that tells them to update, because Microsoft is the ultimate evil that can't be trusted.

I still consider "Nightfall in middle earth" one of the best albums of all times. I remember waiting in front of the recordstore on the releasday in 1998, came home and listened to it from start to finish a few times while reading the newest "Rock Hard" magazine, good times. Even today it's one of the few albums I still enjoy listening from start to finish.

I can imagine some lyrics can be hard to listen to for an english speaking native. Manowar made a german version of "Heart of steal" it's called "Herz aus Stahl" it's so bad when I heard it for the first time I thought "Oh man I hope we don't sound that bad to all the people who speak english when we're singing english."

Almost the same for me, It's either blackmetal, classic or some ambient which works best for me when I want to concentrate on something. But sometimes I still need to listen to some good old cheesy Powermetal, sing along and feel like I should start immediately to conquer the world to defeat all the evil that is out there. ;)

Yes, the Star Trek Destiny trilogy is really good, unfortunately for me that were some of the first Star Trek books I read, now all the others seem just not as good. Two days ago I started Federation by Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens, which was advertised to me as the better "StarTrek Generations", so far it reads pretty good.

I have watch history turned off for long as it's possible. When they started showing me the blank page with "Turn this feature on" I was pleasently surprised because I prefer this to the stupid preview pictures with people making happy/sad faces, forming a heart with their hand or some other bullshit they can come up with. God I really really hate that stuff.

Like those Star Trek Holodeck episodes whith doctor Moriarty where he becomes aware that he's only an hologram.

I always find it fascinating to think about that, when we would be living in an simulation, they could shut the whole thing down for let's say 1 million years, turn it back on and for us it would be like nothing ever happened. Like, I sit here write this comment, in the middle of it they shut it down, wait for "a while" to power it back on, and I wouldnt even know. :)

I really hate this argument about how your time has no value if you do something that others may consider "Solved problems.", "Boring thing to work on." or whatever argument people can come up with.

God, this is a website full of "Hackers" and all 90% of the users can think of is how to get the most money out of the things they do.

I just did watch the episodes on TV when I had the time, so I'm not really deep into it. From looking it up the ending I mean is called "Sleeping in light" so Season 5 i guess?. I think I need to do a rewatch and watch it properly this time.
