Google's AI in their docs suite is so bafflingly bad. I wanted their AI to automate a sheet for me and it just choked. I switched to Claude for making a sheet that I ended up hosting in my local NAS using Microsoft Excel format.

In my experience it's mostly about understanding business requirements of people using said excel sheets and then replicating it to CRUD WebApps while keeping capabilities of importing said sheets and exporting them so user flows are unharmed till a wholesale transition is mandated.

I have ran Hound in my current co for about 2 years now, it's fine but the search experience is far below the SG one. SG is a far superior option but it is prohibetively expensive. I thought about hacking on Hound to be honest to rewrite the UI at least because half of it is broken.

I think Apple is working on on-device LLM training. Which can fix this for privacy if they are actually handling it on-device.

I tend to setup my servers, vms and machines with Nix. It takes care of having the same setup everywhere I interact with.

I highly recommend Bubbletea. I used it for an internal tool, and it combined with Viper makes an easy-to-use TUI application development easy. Though it uses an approach more similar to Elm than to React.

In my experience Sourcegraph offers a better integration with Gitlab and Github both. And their code search is far superior.

Go generics already shipped. I wasn't around for Java 4 days so I don't really know when the main operations shipped but one language maintainer was categorically against it so I wouldn't hold high hopes.

Go's language maintainers refusal to add list operations / comprehensions and you having to type it out by hand every time is something I hate everyday while I'm getting paid to write it.

I have a Github userscript so I just open my Github projects in SourceGraph and do my code search there.

Akka is the only way I could be sure that my concurrent code would most likely not make everything on fire. Especially Typed Akka.

Code with Me working or not is completely a tossup. I ended up paying for another service completely despite me having access to Code with me because it was never reliable. Me and the other user were having issues with it connecting 1/3 times and that's never fun having to waste time fixing a tool.

You either plan your work around zero reflection Java or pray to whatever god that your code passes.

At that point why even bother with Java or native images.

If someone is escaping Spring for it's verbosity and complexity JAX-RS and the Java EE standards aren't that much better IMO.

Then they would have to exit that market and I don't know about you but if I'm a shareholder in MSFT, losing on the 3rd biggest market in the world with massive growth potential doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

Diablo 2 is as good as I remember it when I was younger. As for D4 I have no idea but they seem to flail around and rely on community feedback too much which is a worrying sign for me.

Anti-trust in the US tend to not hit the big tech players as much they do other sectors. Also there is actually a debate in the judicial system about the extent of Anti trust laws themselves.
