When creating a new account on an ipad it took me three tries to pick a password that wasn't "too long". It would be helpful if the error message indicated the maximum allowable password length.

I enjoyed using the app. Easy to understand and super easy to get something published. I sent it to my mom, who was just this weekend asking how hard it would be to set up a website for her friend's small business.

I can't speak for rffn, but many people want to avoid using the 2.4GHz spectrum due to congestion.

In the 2.4GHz band there is a limited amount of space available, and there are now many wireless routers in typical residential neighbourhoods all competing for the same space. Many other devices such as cordless phones, baby monitors, and wireless speakers also use 2.4GHz and interfere with wifi signals. Most microwaves generate significant amounts of noise in the 2.4 GHz band when in use.

In the 5GHz band there is much more space available, and there are many fewer competing devices and sources of interference. The penalty of 5GHz is slightly less range, and more expensive wifi equipment.

How about turning a few lights on remotely when one is unexpectedly caught working late? Now it looks like someone is home instead of looking like a big dark burglary target.

Or maybe one might want to lock the font door from the office when one left in a hurry to get to the meeting on time?

I turned off web history a while ago. I didn't like the filter bubble [1] that I found myself in. One of the things I like best about the internet is access to new and different information. With web history and personalized searching on, I was finding the same results at the top seemingly no matter what I searched for.

Lately I've been using DuckDuckGo about half the time, and Google the rest of the time.
