How about RSS? Each channel has RSS, and iirc it has only failed once (as in, a few days with no updates even though there were new videos) in the last 4-5 years. I don't use Youtube's system for following channels anymore, I just have a YouTube 'subscriptions' category on my feedly.

I use a more simplistic solution: I bind a keyboard shortcut to uBO's element zapper so I can just zap sticky headers as I find them. I have to zap for every repeat visit, but the same shortcut works for zapping sticky sidebar videos or other undesirable elements too.

I'm about 2/3 into the book, the idea is convincing, but did he put any example checklist in the book? He referred to many extant checklists, but there is no "Figure 1: a bad checklist" and "Figure 2: a good checklist, improvement for the one in Figure 1".

I use that too. One of Bangs' advantage is it has suggestions, so I don't have to memorize all the keywords I've set. Of course, Bangs work with keyword search (e.g. du !amazon alice in wonderland), but you lose the suggestion.

In any case I mostly use keywords to search google, youtube, and wikipedia in several languages, so I don't see bangs having much utility for me.

We can also arrive at Brave New World style human production. Babies are produced in factories according to characteristics projected to be in demand by the time they have fully grown. Except instead of the alpha-beta-epsilon types in the book, we may be able to breed for maximum diversity for maximum potential resistance against diseases. Or, of course, any other objectives, technology permitting.

We may also arrive at a common trope in sci-fi where reproduction is not an individual (or couple) decision. By default, individuals do not reproduce and the factories keep the society populated.
