Do I need a cover letter for a tech job? 2 years ago
When I look at resumes, a cover letter is a plus. It shows that the applicant is putting in some effort, and not just spamming every position available.
When I'm hiring, I probably spend less than 30 seconds looking at a resume...
What I look for (these are for process engineering positions)
-Education (need a degree - HR requirement) - I don't care about grade. -Projects or internships - relevant to the position. -Hobbies / interests - for me, this is the biggest one. Looking for a hobby or interest that needs problem solving - car repair, 3d printing, robotics, baking, whatever. I don't really care about travel, sports, etc.
