Da vinci is great software but for long time vegas users it is not easy to adapt. I tried several times and failed. I used to edit a couple of my daughter theatrical performance with up to 5 cameras and wanted to use da vinci for its "sync-with-audio" feature and easier color correction for the various, different cameras.

Then packer seemed to be necessary, then started to look at some more complex configurations and found that in many cases you just create gigantic bash script that apply the configurations. So I should go to my wiki page with all the commands to create my server and transform them into a script that I should test several times. Ok if you have 100s of identical servers, but when you have just 4?

But you need to create: 1. A Custom vm image, so how do you do it?

I've been thinking about this very problem recently.

My solution for an air-gapped backup is a linux server with no exposed ports, no daemons running.

A cron job starts a scp that copies data into a directory named as the date.

If you want you can expand using zfs with snapshots, compress, deduplicate.

Or if you have the money, buy a data domain or similar appliance and set it with immutable backups (nobody can delete them) and double password for any destructive operations. You can set it up as a tape with fiber channel or with ddboost, other ways to create a air gap

If the software is FEL, an open source time-tabling software, you can run the gui-less executable. I did it in Linux on a 30× core server, starting 30+ processes.

Edit: read the other answers. In FEL you can specify hard and soft constraints. Search can be long nonetheless...

I run 10 years old HP servers, something like DL580G5, with care-packs (extended, paid warranty). We needed to flash firmware, 2 motherboards broke and they sent spare parts to replace. Probably with less enterprise-y server firms it may be difficult to find spare parts after 10 years..

I analized 2 arrived this morning: both have 2 message-id header, one from gmail the other from sendgrid; both have a in-reply-to header (that is used for ARC and DKIM signature); both have 2 DKIM-Signature... both have the same CaMelCasE html... both are flagged as spam by a corporate antispam and my own spamassassin... one message has fake Received: headers with date in year 2019...

gmail has all the information to mark them as spam
