2. We need be able to access resources inside a VPC.

From my initial testing, this looks like an annoying "no". There doesn't appear to be any way to set the VPC or security group in which the build executes, only an IAM role.

(which already makes it a non-starter for my use case with a private npm-enterprise server)

So long, Retina 14 years ago

Sucks, but I think it's a good idea to wait a generation for stuff like this; even if it's apple. I got a big IPS LCD from Sony back when they were a new thing. I thought $1500 was well worth it for 1920x1200 in 24". I still use it but it has a similar burn in issue.

Display tech is a shady game, figuring out the actual panel mfg is hard, and years of custom modelines have taught me to avoid being an early adopter on displays. Retina is "teh futar" though, and I welcome it once it's been refined; we've needed higher dpi in large displays and software that can handle dynamic dpi well for a long time.

Not sure why hubspot is having issues, I'll have to talk to the marketing guys who maintain the hubspot pages... Currently we don't let people claim their profiles, but will in the future. "login" is really just for customers at this point.

For sure, we can only evaluate what we can get access to. We're trying to scour as many sources as possible, but if you're exceedingly quiet, you wouldn't be in our system.

We are making assessments of code made public, and combining it with how active people are in places like stackexchange. You can argue that code evaluated from github is not necessarily indicative of a good developer, but it's a good place to start rather than shotgun LinkedIn spam from recruiters.

My company is making a business of identifying great developers (gild.com). It is a notoriously difficult task, even with the wealth of information developers tend to make public about themselves.

Just before I clicked on this, I clicked on another HN article that was on Facebook about Zuck was an organ donar (wat?). I couldn't read it because I fully deleted my account about a year ago. I had a flashback, and realized, facebook is the new AOL.

I posted this on the reddit thread as well, but I've used some SSDs in VM hosts, and seen a pretty damn high failure rate. They're great for VM hosts for obvious reasons, but they thrash pretty hard, and I've taken to triple RAID mirroring them, across different brands.

Thanks for the anthropological linguistics class flashback.
