With the advent of generative AI the painting has been on the wall for some time. Using it in Photoshop is simply so good that it is a necessity by now. Affinity are not a large enough company to train an AI, and any AI will not be able to run locally for a long time. So it must take place in the cloud and therefore require a subscription.

That is hardly correct. A genetic disposition to mate with the opposite sex would be a very strong force for reproduction.

In other words: Genes that make you have sex with the opposite sex would be a huge advantage and so would be selected for.

Even insect knows what to do instinctively.

I would need VERY strong evidence to accept that it is not gentically encoded.

There is no documentation that seed oils are especially unhealthy.

They do however consist mainly of omega 6 fatty acids, and our body needs about 50/50 omega 6 and 3 in the diet. Basically omega 3 is anti inflammatory and omega 6 is. inflammatory. (too much omega 3 is not good either)

The problem with seed oils is that we mainly eat those now, as they are used in everything due to price. So we get FAR too much omega 6 in our diet. Which is bad in the long run.

Yes, but it is all just speculation. And when you compare it to how poorly our bodies handles running now I would say it is a weak argument.

Also the "we can run the prey tired" argument clashes with the observations of hunter gatherers where large animals plays a very small role in day to day diet.

Also there is a very large opportunity cost for running after large pray.

Imagine 5-10 hunters running after a big pray, and not catching it. Now they have been running a half marathon. They might be far from water. They have expended a lot of energy and will be hungry and tired and will have to walk home to camp. With nothing to eat.

I think there is a good reason that hunting aminal usually just sprints for short durations. The other approach is simply too risky.

Nope. Walking it is.

I find it interresting that no one questions the "we are born to run" claim. I have seen very little evidence for that. We are able to run, but that does not mean that running is a good way for us to move in general.

Having reached 50+ my estimate is that only 1 in 20 of the people i have known and who has been running still do. Perhaps even less.

You simply get too many injuries. Your cortisol levels rise. You destroy your joints etc. etc.

I also find it very hard to imagine that running would have been better for some imaginable forefathers who had to run barefoot in nature with no roads.

I suddenly smelled smoke one morning and could not figure out where it came frome. Turned out it was a paper napkin i had left in one of those bowls on my kitchen table. And the sun came in through the window in just the right angle. Took me a few minutes to figure out what the reason was.

But then debt and better money management and institutes has created the most peaceful and less violent societies in the world.

In "original" societies it is not abnormal for 50% of males to die violent deads. In our societies it is less than 2% as far as i remember. Including two world wars!

So the violence of debt is not that relevant in the big picture.

Confirmation bias does not exclude being correct. I have the same experience with a family member having gluten intolerance. We have experimented with diet. On gluten. Off gluten. Eating what is thought to be gluten free and having the usual reaction. And then finding out it wasnt. Having symptoms dissapear after a while of gluten etc. etc.

There might be confirmation bias, and it might be an n=1 test, but it is also 100% repeatable.

And it might not be the gluten, but proteins that are in the same foods as gluten. So when you stop with gluten you also stop with the other proteins. But that is really irellevant when you got the sensitivity.
