In my experience (~1.5yrs on small servers and partially a laptop) it is very stable, especially if you stick to the release branches, but even running master everywhere I've rarely run into any problems on that end.

Using pkgsrc for software is actually a good thing as it is portability-oriented to begin with and you get access to almost all of the packages in there out of the box. DragonFly support in pkgsrc has very much improved over the last year or so since one of the DF devs became a NetBSD/pkgsrc committer.

As for hardware support… YMMV. In my experience drivers tend to lag behind a bit and may or may not work for you. Give it a try.

Apple themselves started moving the toolbar into the menubar (e.g. iTunes, Mac App Store).

IMHO the "left category bar" of Sparrow and Twitter for Mac are pretty useful, given that (a) screens are much more wide than high, and stacking everything in horizontal bars is a waste of space (b) they move "categories" from horizontal tabs to vertical, thus making the Y direction for 3-or-more finger gestures meaningful and intuitive.

Right now, I'm almost always catching up on twitter, even overnight. I ignore buzzes that I missed (mainly because the interface is too confusing to quickly read what's new).

To me, twitter is the main way of keeping up with what's going on with my friends and the world (I rarely consciously read "news"), so I want to miss as little as possible. I'm following around 350 people, mostly from my time zone. When I don't sleep in, catching up with the night timeline takes about 15 minutes; to me this is time well spent.

I don't know what role buzz will serve when the dust settles down; since the unread count doesn't distinguish uninteresting-comments-on-buzzes-I've-read from really new stuff, I'm mostly ignoring it anyway.
