This course doesn't have the direct matching that the in person courses do. It's mostly on you. They do encourage you to attend local meetups to network.

I live in the same city as one of the instructors and he offered to connect me with local people for a job, but I ended up not needing it as I got a job with the person who ran my local meetup.

You can read other people's stories at: http://community.gotealeaf.com/t/share-your-experience-of-le...

This is your 3rd post on this in 3 days. You would be hit by the spam filter if this wasn't an ASK post. If you're not getting any traction with your posts (I assume you're not since you've made the exact same one 3 times in 3 days), you should consider the reasons why, and change based on them.

Also, I mean this in the most constructive way possible- Please get a more professional sounding email address. I would never hire someone who had your email addresses. Get yourself one based on your name, or a freelancing company name you invent.

You don't need to remap or buy a new mouse, ctrl+click opens in a new tab as well.

I use ConEmu + Powershell/Mintty for Vim/Rails development. I don't notice a difference with it vs my OSX or Linux machines. I also use it for working on my linux VPS and have 0 problems

I'm not a bash scripting poweruser though.

I feel for just a fraction of $33k, I can get some pretty nice resources online myself instead of moving somewhere remote and paying that much

That seems pretty spot on to me. $33,000 sounds like an insane amount of money to spend on anything without getting a degree out of it.

If this sort of thing interests you, and you're looking for something at a reasonable (MUCH CHEAPER) price, check out: http://www.gotealeaf.com/

I am finishing up their 3rd course and I'm very happy with it. I've learned more in the 4 months in this program than the rest of my life half-assedly teaching myself and taking some classes combined.

I re-read all of the comments on here and didn't feel like ANYONE said anything about victims being 'restricted' from defending themselves.

People on here were stating that the woman should get a gun, or get pepper spray, or get a taser. Telling women they need to defend themselves in a certain way and it's on them to get a gun and shoot an attacker is what I and a few others were upset about.

No. I'm not.

I'm advocating that telling a rape victim that she could have/should have done more to defend herself is stupid and disgusting.

I'm fucking thrilled if your wife has the capacity to do that. That's great. I really fucking hope she does.

Thinking that every woman can do that, or that it would be possible in every situation (or even most) is absurd.

What if the attacker has a gun/pepper spray?...

Not to mention that many women state their bodies just shut down like they weren't even there, even if they had a way out/way to defend themselves.
