They've been doing this very thing (bricking modded consoles via firmware update) with the Wii for quite some time now. People will always find a way around these things, but I think the whole region-lock nonsense that Nintendo insists on is equally ridiculous.

this hack opened a world of possibilities for my PS3 that Sony had closed with the removal of Linux.
They'll only care for a few weeks.. like every other time facebook has altered something. I'm personally in favor of the new look, and I think a certain degree of change is healthy now and then.
