Back when I worked there, they had something called "Blizzard Bucks" to "supplement" your salary. Basically "Blizzard Bucks" was Monopoly money we could use to buy their microtransactions and WoW game-time. In reality, you made approx. $30-40k sans OT, but they would always calculate your "salary" at $50-60k because of all the "Blizzard Bucks" and claim your salary was industry best.

The best part was, and they would emphasize this at every meeting, "that the company would pay the taxes for us" as if it were a big deal. People never believe me when I tell them this is how the non-devs got treated.

Disagree. Smart money is probably already out. There’s no guarantee you can accurately define when the top is. Fortunes are lost when people think they can.

The greatest irony is that if an outbreak occurs, the government and public health organizations will somehow be culpable.

“You’re making my kids autistic” will quickly morph into “why did you let my child die?”

I’m from an LA suburb. I’m able to get to Santa Monica/Culver City, LAX, and J-Town just with light rail and a free transfer depending on where I need to go. In terms of time efficiency, it’s comparable to driving (faster than driving/parking in rush hour but not as fast during off hours).

LA metro is dropping track like crazy and way more usable than it used to be. And it’s cheap. $1.75 each way or monthly pass.

Tl;dr it’s awesome now and getting better!

I’d love to sit in a meeting at one of these companies. It has to be surreal discussing trending data in regards to sex, kinks, and quirks objectively in a business setting. The setup is almost something out of a Monty Python skit.

The A student wants the highest grade possible and will maneuver in a way where the C student will do actual work without affecting quality. In the event the C student is beyond useless, the A student decides between doing all the work or throwing the C student under the bus.

The C student will take any grade C and up and strives to do as little as possible whilst not pissing off the A student to go ballistic and report you to the professor.
