There is an OpenRA mod called Combined Arms. It is incredible! Been a C&C fan from the beginning, but prefer the originals. Combined arms gives me the feel of the originals with the features of the latter versions. The AI can really be brutal if you suck like me, unless you turn it down.

If memory serves, devs were pretty upset when Jobs killed it. Think there is even a video on YT where one dev gives Jobs a mouthful. Using it, I can see why. It was an internet precursor.

This is hypocritical. Charge one man with a felony, raid his home, put his face all over TV...THEN.. don't charge another with the same thing because he's just an "elderly man with a poor memory".
So, they shut down a coal plant to rely on...another coal plant for power generation. How exactly did it 'replace' the last coal plant?

Liked Telemate also. Pretty sure it had the ability to script a session. You could create a script and set it to dial in when nobody was on the board, download a file and log off, saving precious time on the board, and the busy signal.
Also liked Telix. Was more simple and like Procomm, but Telemate seemed more extensible.
BBSs were much more personal and local than the internet. I remember going to local board (BBS) parties where you met the face behind the avatar. Online games, chatting with sysops, downloading filez... Those were the days.

Loved demos back in the day. Second Reality is still one of my favorites.

I would agree with him to a point. Productivity on full remote workers can be difficult to track and is likely not higher than in office. When I worked from home full time, it was more difficult to maintain productivity as much as while in office. Also, the psychological benefits of in office work definitely come into play here. I believe a hybrid approach is the best and has many benefits (which I won't go into for brevity)

Depends on your personality. Some excel with remote, some prefer hybrid or in office 100%. I would agree that if you have the option to come in, try it and see if that resolves the issue. I work hybrid and, oddly enough, am happy when I'm in the office. It also makes we enjoy when I work from home more.

yeah, it's pretty nasty. Free looks pretty java-centric. What's weird is you can in-line RPG. Makes for some crazy looking code.
The hardware is solid. The development community is aging out.
We have the same thing and are currently migrating off as there are no RPG developers available for hire. Most of them are retiring. There are very few schools teaching RPG 3, 4, and Free.
Always thought DC was a bada$$. He worked on NT, Azure, and Xbox. Would love to meet him.

My kids love scratch. Excellent introduction to coding for kids. Wish it was taught in schools more as it helps build methodical cognitive thinking. I consider it modern BASIC.
Agreed. History shows progress is always much slower than predicted.
Publicly criticizing the CEO of where you work is going to land you in hot water wherever you go. Any 2nd grader knows that. Learn to submit your grievances the proper way or leave the company.
