The cambridge tutorial is armv6 assembly only though. Which is kinda neat to poke around with, but not that much fun (imo). But doing baremetal for the raspberry is fun, just because it is a different architecture. The only problem I had with it was that the bcm-datasheet felt not very nice. It's kind of hard reading yourself through this. Or maybe it was so hard, because the topic in itself is pretty complex

For me it somehow shows a good point: Your architecture can be super weird and clusterfucked, but if it just works, people will use it neverthelesss.

I mean, you don't have to care about the architecture at all. You just throw some simple bits and characters at the screen and it displays that for you. I think the simplicity of that got these displays to the point where they are now

it's still not much harder. Just press F1, like in most applications or type "<programname> cheatsheet" into your favorite search engine. Takes less than a minute to figure it out.

As interesting as this website might be, this layout is awful. I am not able to scroll on the overlays and if my firefox window is too small I can't even see the links to wikipedia and sorts.

Plus I really dislike those slow animations and really can't stand them, but that's just preference I guess.

In the past year I have cleaned my mess of (social media) accounts and got rid of everything that is not needed and switched over to RSS (with Liferea). It works perfectly fine. No annoying notifications, no unnecessary mails, just new News when I feel like opening my RSS feed. A wonderful thing.

This is basically what i learned in my 1 1/2 years oft psychotherapy. You really have to ask yourself stuff like "what's wrong with my schedule?"

The answer could be something trivial like: "I waste too much time browsing hacker news after work. I need to stop that!". But it's not easy to just stop that. But this then brings the question back (atleast for me): What happens when all coins are mined? I just looked it up and it's already >80% mined. So if miners would leave the pool and then suddenly (suddenly might even be a long period of time here, I don't know to much about bitcoin) all coins are gone. What happens?

Edit: What just got to my mind is that we will never gain more bitcoins then those 21 million, but we surely will lose them (people lose they keys, die, whatever). Will the price go up to "infinity" or will it suddenly drop to 0?

It makes sense, but is it always true? Especially with antidepressant drugs. There are lots of studies like 'Placebo patients had the same result as patients on drug X', but how do we find out if X is not needed for everyone? How do we get our minds to cope with the thought of X being useless? I am not really sure. Only my feeling says that i would love to get lied to in this situation

Well, it might not be "normie compatible", but there still is 4chan, which is a lot "old internet". I can understand that people do not like it and why it is that way though. But the point is: There are still sites out there which are like the old internet. They are obviously just not mainstream. They never were really (except reddit maybe). You just gotta find your little niche place and maybe look around every now and then, but they still exist.

Just started an ML course this semester. I am not sure if I even have time to use this as additional resource, but it looks super awesome after skimming through it. The part where it gets insane is when you realize that you don't have to type apt-get and apt only is enough, because you are not a script and (probably) don't care about different output formats.

That blew my mind and cut a lot of mistakes!

I often felt that I was getting distracted way too much, but I couldn't stop it. About a year ago when my depression got back on track I just shut myself off of every service I had. I quit facebook, deleted all unnecessary apps from my phone, muted it completly and turned off the thing that the display lights up if you get a new message. I even let my phone at home when I was not expecting any major call. If people called me I just called them back when I was at home and had time for it. All of this went out way better than I ever would've thought. I feel super relieved and relaxed nowadays. Because I started a new job I carry my phone with me now most of the day, but it is still muted most of the time. It is even fun to see if there is something new on the internet without getting notified about it instantly. Now I decide when I want to take a break and what I want to look for, not my Smartphone or something else.

Maybe they weren't naive, but just curious? There could've been a (obviously really really) small chance that this project went perfectly fine and they'd build one of the greatest games ever. But if it went like that the resulting article would be even worse. You just can't know if something like this is ever going to produce something.
