non-profit hospitals and non-profit universities have had exorbitant price increases in the last few decades so they aren't doing any better

A mass shooting occurred today by an unknown person. Don't worry, authorities are rounding up people with similar profiles for extra surveillance/interrogation.

Typical privileged male trying to talk over a woman in tech's lived experience. Instead of screaming at her that she's wrong about everything, how about listening for once?

Do you think people should get fired and ostracized for donating to Planned Parenthood? They literally murder babies. What kind of person thinks murder is ok, and would donate money to help an organization systematically murder? This kind of person does not belong in a position of power, full stop.

Regardless of your political orientation, you should think twice before cheerleading mob justice. If you think mob justice is good and if you think "freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from consequences" then you're just saying unpopular speech is always bad and wrong. Once the mob turns against your political beliefs then one day you might be the one getting attacked and fired.

A lot of people nowadays support things like getting people fired for having unpopular opinions and say in response, "freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from consequences." Unless they automatically only believe in what's popular, it's in their best interest to protect expression of unpopular and offensive opinions, because when the tide of popular opinion turns against them, when the internet hate mob starts attacking them, then they'll realize why there shouldn't be harsh personal and professional consequences for expressing unpopular opinions.

People defend these sorts of vigilante actions by saying, those people aren't just expressing their opinions, they're saying hate speech. But almost all political opinions can be turned into moral faults though. If you support abortion you support murdering babies, you are a monster. If you support Palestine you support anti-semitism and terrorism, you are a monster. If you support (any right wing opinion), you are a monster.

If incarceration and gang violence impact black men moreso than black women then it sounds like they are disadvantaged because of their gender. It sounds like you're trying to point to their race or class as the source of their problems but it doesn't make sense when you are directly comparing them with people of the same race and class but different gender.

OK, I was confused because it seems to make the most sense to me to eliminate race and class as factors. So if you were to take into account race and class, what conclusions could you make considering that overall men are less likely to be college graduates than women? If say upper class white men are equally likely to be graduates compared to upper class white women, then that would mean, for example, lower class black men would be egregiously disadvantaged compared to lower class black women. So your point would be that male privilege only applies to rich white men and that privilege is reversed for poor black people and for that group women are privileged over men?

Let's look at the gender wage gap. Assume someone looks at the statistics that say that overall women earn less than men and says, why aren't race and class considered as factors? Why would someone say that, and what possible conclusions could they reach if they were to slice up the data for those demographics? They could say that some demographics are equal or in favor of women, but overall it would still be in favor of men, so what sort of point could they make there?

Here are some I think are interesting. http://www.isna.org/node/564 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Reimer

They talk about male babies who were sexually reassigned at birth and given female hormones. However many of them decided to reidentify as males later on life, showing that even with female hormones and a female upbringing, it was not enough to make them adopt a female gender identity.

I wouldn't say this is conclusive evidence. But I think it's enough to show that people should keep an open mind about this subject.

Except that one is just a copy of the html and nobody is going to get paid, the chat doesn't even work.
