My experience was FAANG was dragging their feet but another massive tech company hired me in 3. They make a decision if they want you almost immediately based on your experience. If the answer is no they'll keep your in the pipeline just in case. Your first year is the real interview IMO.

H-E-B Groceries In Texas has been doing an incredible job with their cubside service. It costs about $5 and takes less than 15 minutes to drive up and get all your groceries put in your trunk. This article was surprising to me because my impression has been the opposite and curbside service is an awesome luxury that's come out of this. Only downsides are having to schedule a pickup time usually for the next day and sometimes they have to substitute items that are out of stock. I wish I could link items so if they don't have bread don't get me peanut butter and jelly too.

I have been pursuing similar goals. Except for exercise I've been learning rope dart and also have the goal of being more clean and being better at organizing my spaces. I have also found that focusing on the fundamentals has done wonders for my health, energy levels, and mood. I wish I had taken time to figure this stuff out better years ago.

Whatever religion posses you will have overlapping symbols that are in conflict with the occult. This is intentional. Occultists create subversive symbols to filter out trojan horse intellectuals (EG: The Church of Satan). People who seem smart and capable of deep thought but are actually being coached by a religion and only wield rational thought to serve their religion are pretty common and undesirable to have around when mindhacking. It also creates an "us-vs-them" paradigm that improves community at the cost of wider social ostracism. Anyone who has argued with a christian trained in apologetics on hot button topics knows what I'm talking about in regards to trojan horse intellectuals. So by adopting "bullshit" (like antichrist worship) that directly conflicts with "other bullshit" they can dereference the pointer to the religious back door. Then occultists build their own back doors and reprogram themselves to do what they want.

Obviously major religions want to be the only answer. As any hacker knows as long as more than one person has admin privledges on a network, there is no guarantee control over that network can be maintained. All major religions say that the apocalypse will start when people turn away from them. The result is increasing radicalization as a religion dies out which helps it hold on a little longer.

Hi I am interested in this sort of service. I have 2 concerns. First is I don't install browser extensions unless I really trust them. Too many are pumped up and then sold to some malware company, one update later and you're owned. My second concern is that if this works well eventually the fake news producers will become aware of it, reverse engineer it and then attempt to game the detection.

If you like Dennett check out Julian Jayne's "the origin of consciousness in the breakdown of the bicameral mind" which was highly influential for Dennett. Jayne does a fantastic job pinning down what consciousness is and what it isn't.

I am reminded of the experiment where a cockroach had brain implants that allowed its movement to be controlled electronically. After a while the cockroach would figure out the signal the researchers were using and its brain ignored it effectively locking out the researchers. At some point it was figured out that if random noise (music) was constantly transmitted the cockroach could be controlled much longer before its brain figured out what signal to block. In the end it would always figure out what signal the researchers were using.

Right now fake news is merely manipulative signal wrapped in noise. If cockroaches can figure it out, so can every human on earth.

Alternatively we could start a reality tv show where every week fake news company executives are tried for treason and executed. Hell kick it up to 3x a week I'd watch it.

I think the comment above is understated. There is evidence that psychoactive compounds have been used since at least 3000BCE in Mesoamerica. Looking into it it seems lead was first mined around the same time in Greece but the lead sweetener idea wasn't popular until the roman empire. Note that there were reports even back then of health issues associated with the practice.

I imagine those who are charged with suppressing piracy are creating a fuss. If they do their jobs right they'll be devaluing the product.

How long is the flight time on this? It burns through about 30liters of gas an hour so even if it had a car sized gas tank it could only fly for an hour before refueling. Still, it seems really exciting!

Somebody already tried this but had issues monetizing after multiple governments nationalized it. From there it suffered the tragedy of the commons. I don't think something like this would work unless the rights could be secured.

With this device in particular I don't think that it works well enough to prompt a corporate oligarchy artificially inflating prices.

What you are talking about could indeed be a problem if there are significant developments in nano human augmentation. I personally would love it if cognitive boosters were treated as a health issue and made widely available.
