Natural monopolies are like that. Artificial ones are either Govenrment enterprises or Government enforced taking what was initially natural one and making it into law, and tend to overstay their welcome because of that.

And people on forums would lambast you when you asked how to implement something like that. Now it's called telemetry and is the norm.

Same for hacking: some people invaded system such and such and took private information.

If you think complying with foreign regulations is not worth it, or if you're not even aware of it, it's not up to you to block anything. Why would it be? If they care they would make providers block your site.

In a sane world they shouldn't be liable of anything if a person from another country uses their website.

Yes, it's not just because people are at the moment going through a problem that they know how to solve it. It's one thing to be in a bad situation, how it is and so on, another is to know how to get out of it.

That's also why giving money is a lot of time not a solution. Despite being easy, lazy and making people feel good about it.

What matters is that it ressonates with a common oppinion that smart phones are bad, so as long as it supports that somewhat popular position it doesn't need to be checked.

We all have biases, and in fact I don't use a smart phone because of some of the issues I have noticed using one previously, but if truth matters to you, you cannot just accept stuff just because you agree with it.

If less people use it then less people expect others to also use it.

"Reasonable" is a weasel word.

You can have a reasonable definition of what is reasonable ;-) It just has to do with the ammount of risk you're willing to take, yes, it involves personal risk.

But you can see, for example, in such and such people that get a degree are >70% unemployed or working in a different area that has nothing to do with it. Then well perhaps it's not a good choice if I don't have the liberty to do it just for the sake of it, without expecting money in return.

Some other career choices probably have better expected outcomes for the average Joe. So maybe if you need the money, chose that.

The actual problem is not Facebook censoring content. It's actually people trusting them not to, and relying on that. "Oh then it has to be regulated", yeah sure lets trust government to not censor what they don't like, what can go wrong.

You don't have a right to post whatever you want on Facebook. As far as we know they can forbid everyone from posting and call it a day, it's their website after all.

Isn't mass reporting done by people a form of activism. Don't know why you want to diferentiate, activism doesn't have to be "good".

No we all know Facebook and Google are both trustfully truth providers, that actually has been their goal all along. And if they don't know, we can always count on Snopes to tell it like it is.
