Totally agree. I don’t understand why the author couldn’t just say that Drupal is for a different use case. Rather than label a whole framework, the people who build it, work with it, and use it, as basically “incorrect”.

I get that there's a lot of legacy PHP sites, that you could end up finding yourself working on. But there are still plenty of new Drupal and Wordpress sites being built.
You could also say that building a site with these tools as akin to "customising", as a lot of what you're doing is configuration rather than coding (but I would say sometimes JS + NPM is pretty similar). There are still opportunities to push yourself with coding, with some fairly complex Drupal sites being built.
That’s what contactless cards do now, there’s a PAYG cap. When you read about it doesn’t really sound that complex (not sure if it needed a clever bloke with an algorithm, but then what do I know?)
I guess because they couldn’t work out a way for you to purchase a travel card on your contactless card, so this was the only way to allow regular commuters to use their contactless.
Anyway it was the reason I switched over from oyster to contactless. I realised I was getting ripped off as I would always use PAYG and _sometimes_ went over the caps.

The rules were somewhat ambiguous, which allowed him to break them (on the "childcare exception").
But his account of his actions is so untruthful. It is obvious to most that being on a remote farm would be a nicer environment to isolate than a house in central London. This simply _must_ have been a factor in his decision. He did not even contemplate seeking childcare support at home, he stated this himself in his press conference, it hadn't even crossed his mind.
His trip was not safe, and should have been used as a last resort. Is that the impression you got? That he had exhausted all other options?
If you had, then I would say you are even more political motivated than those you are saying are looking to give him the "boot".
Even if it wasn't a problem (which it was, at the time he did it). It's his covering up of his actions + colleagues backing him up, which is the real issue here.
He's so blatantly lying about the "eye sight test", it shows a total lack of respect for the public and his role as part of the UK government. They should be, if anything, following the rules more than anyone else in order to set an example.
Ocado also have the “eco delivery” feature, where you can pick a delivery slot when (I presume) the driver will be making a similar delivery nearby.
It’s not a huge thing, but shows they are doing something (either that or they understand their middle-class market).
Amazon pretty much sets the standard for this. They're the biggest ecommerce home delivery company, and yet have absolutely nothing in the way of reducing waste, and give the customer no option or control to do so. The _only_ thing they do is allow you to group deliveries (in case you want everything at once) which has the side-effect of reducing carbon emissions by the delivery van.
And don't even get me started about Prime.
Yeah looking at her Google timeline maps that she posted, when she went to the "south bank" she actually walked around Waterloo station. A walk along the actual south bank (of the river) I would say should be a must for any tourist in London. Great view of the Thames, no cars, interesting architecture, and plenty of galleries and other cultural highlights. In particular the Tate modern.
She got a train from Manchester to London. I'm surprised that the price of this ticket wasn't mentioned (when the £4.90 one in London was). Manchester to London can typically cost anywhere between £40 to £90.
Isn't the article's main concern the conflict of interest when polling companies release both public and private polls?
They have an incentive to release inaccurate results to the public in order to benefit their private clients even further.

I don't think this is a well known, or even considered true. Take the biggest socialist countries, Russian and China. Compare them to what the conditions were like in those countries before socialist states took over. You will see massive improvements.
Little trick that I do when travelling as a couple: Get one randomly allocated seat, and then pay for the other one next to it (or as close by as possible).
I do understand what you're saying, but I would say labour are representing an alternative government. One that would not have got us into the mess that we are currently in. One that would attempt to bridge the gap between the different groups across the uk (the gap that has been highlighted by the brexit vote).
I'd say this is more of a strategy than a plan. It's all pretty vague.
It was the tories who called the referendum, and the tories who are currently dealing with Brexit. It's not Labour's job to come up with a plan (which would not get used anyway). They're splitting the charing cross branch to run to Battersea Power station, while the bank branch will run to Morden. Nationalism, xenophobia, and even fascism seems to be on the rise in Sweden - as it is in the rest of Europe. (I'm basing this solely on media coverage and personal observation.)
Posts like this show a poor attempt, with entirely subjective observations, to justify some of these attitudes. What's particularly scary is how the poster tries to disguise his views with a belief in socialist politics.
There's a much bigger issue, the default iPhone settings has "Send as SMS" off, this means that if a failed iMessage attempt occurs, it will just give up (rather than sending by SMS).
I've tried disabling iMessage on my iphone several times. I then have nothing connected to my iMessage account, but I still miss out on loads of messages from people who have the "Send by SMS" option disabled. Their devices are not told that I am no longer using iMessage.
I went to the apple store to ask about this, and I was told the only solution was to get all my contacts to ensure "Send by SMS" is turned on. Which is frankly absolutely ridiculous!

I've had plenty of incidents where I've had to direct a black cab driver to my destination (all of which were within zone 2 in London). I assume they weren't authorised cabbies and were borrowing/renting the cab from someone else. This was all in the pre-uber era. I guess the cost of taking the knowledge was high enough to warrant illegally subletting their licensees.

That said, I think the drupal community is the single worst offender in the "our software can do anything and everything and is perfect and you never need to use another one and you can't tell me otherwise"
The original post is a direct criticism of Drupal from someone in the Drupal community.
I got it for a laugh and am searching people in the office. Nothing seems to be happening. It's been loading one person for around 30 minutes now.
Emotional control was the biggest skill I learnt from playing Poker. It's a game where short term winning and losing are unimportant. I learnt to have confidence in my own game, and know that I would (probably) be rewarded (eventually). Knowing that there are factors out of your control (i.e. luck) and becoming comfortable with that, and even getting to a point where you can embrace that (after all, without luck Poker would be no fun). I feel I have taken this skill and adapted it to many other aspects of my life.
This article is the biggest load of guff I have read this year. Absolutely no proof or argument is given that the minimum wage hurts the lower income population. Simply that well trained "economists" know it so. Elitists right-wring garbage.
