I tried exactly 14 different antidepressants, at different dosages in the last 10 years. None of them got any positive effect and I could stop without feeling anything different too, except, on some cases, very mild "brain zaps". I do not know why not any of this drugs had any (positive) effect (only some common collateral effects in some cases) but I wonder if there is a correlation between the drug doing it's work and being hard to quit...

I see all kind of theories about the misterious nature of facebook recommendations. I believe that they use all kind of complex things but most of those unexpected recommendations could be explained by assuming that facebook recommend you people that have being cheking you out. If you saw someone on the street and that person check your facebook, they are recommended to you and it looks like magic because you did nothing. I do not know if this is the case but it is simple and seems to explain a lot of those strange recommendations.

You are right. My english is not very good and I did not read what OP wrote carefully about this. Maybe it was the silliness of the word "slave" being used like this that threw me off ;)

Those third apps updates can be annoying but I honestly cannot complain about all those problems you talk about, like processes sucking up resources, popups, and adware automatic installation on updates. I do not even see this happening with (very) non tech people around me. So I think it is a very suspicious argument. Even worst would be to suggest that those are problems are Microsofts blame. Maybe you get those adwares exactly because you think UAC is annoying. Can we blame Google when a user get a virus ridden app from a place other than the official store and ignore the OS warnings?

But if this is the reality, it is another good argument for the push for windows 10 update and the adoption of UWP. In fact, I think microsoft should push even harder for windows 10 updates, it is the right move.

Also, I think that the idea of maintaining a Windows machine updated with only the parts the user wants is hilarious. And I do not know who are those people you talk about. I love to test OS previews and I have never heard a person who already do not liked Microsoft for whatever reason make a big deal about a UI update (windows 8 "metro" mode was shit but easily ignored, windows 10 UI is better and amazing).

The more updates and innovation, the better. I am not afraid :)

I do not think any way of doing things should be killed. People should educate themselves to be able to choose the tool they feel comfortable to do what they need. It is simply as that. If the old tools work and you like them, use them. If you are a beginner and do not know what tools you should use it is your problem. I agree that the things could be better but I think that this idea of making everything super easy for beginners is not a thing we should always focus first. I do not meant to sound harsh but I do not know if things could be much better considering all the things happening with JS on the last years.

For me, it is - I love the fact that the News, Weather, Email, Calendar, Calculator, Timer/Stopwatch, Cortana, Office Mobile (word/excel/onenote/powerpoint), Skydrive apps on Windows Phone 10 are the same, with the same UI and funcionality that on my Windows 10 desktop. It works perfectly with touch and it works perfectly with mouse and keyboard. Now I only download an app if it is UWP because it is so much more convenient.

Nice idea, I would start using it today to make a couple of sites that people ask me to do for them.

I am not familiar with the hyperloop concept so maybe I am wrong but I never understood the "cost is too high" argument. Is this not almost always the case on every technology breakthrough? Things like gene mapping and 3D printing comes to mind - someone had to started doing it at prohibitive costs so we can evolve the tech and get the prices down.

And it works fine on WP 8.1, which was a nice surprise. Good work!

I just read the comments on posts with "Microsoft" on the title so I can laugh at the people who says "I do not care about microsoft" (but I am here commenting on a topic about it anyway).

Should the 3D demo work on IE11? It started fine but then broke, on desktop and wp8.1.

I would love to see a comparasion with knockoutjs/durandal too...

It always baffle me how little people here talk about DurandalJS (that uses knockout for its bindings). It is a nice alternative to angular... and it uses knockout which is awesome. If you like knockout, you should really take a look at it.

I just use the same old .exe that I generate from ninite.com. It takes just one click and I have all my favorite apps running. I just need to install VS2013 and are good to go. It can't be more simple than this.

(sorry for my bad english) I do not want to start an argument about what is better but has everyone saying good things about angularJS here play with durandalJS? To me, coming from a MVVM background, it feels more natural and easier to use. I confess I did not get too far with angular yet so I would love to know what is the opinion of someone who use/test both frameworks.
