Why do you think they wouldn't? They did it for the US with the "Patriot Act"

Western Europe population is only 2.5% of the total world population
Is aging really a problem? On the individual level it is but as a whole the world population has exploded in the past century. Would we have enough resources for everybody if the life expectancy will increase to say 100 years?
This is not a 'bugfix', it's a feature removal! I've used it all the time, now there's one extra step to navigate to a URL that I copy
Please don't turn Firefox into a botnet!
Let me guess, all ads that are not from Google will be considered 'intrusive' by Chrome.
I've wasted so many hours trying to convince Windows user that they don't need any passwords for gitolite, they just need to check that Pageant is running and has the right key loaded :D
Yep, gitolite is awesome, it's so lightweight you can use pretty much any leftover PC to host repos for an entire company. I also use cgit for a fast and easy git web interface and ReviewBoard for code reviews.
If I remember correctly gitlab initially started as a frontend for gitolite.
The 9.7 iPad is too big for me, I mostly use my iPad mini for reading. The 7.9 4:3 screen size is perfect for that. Android tablets have AWFUL standby battery efficiency, I use my iPad mini for a full week with a single charge!
No one would bother writing Electron app if there was no demand. Most users, (even tech savvy users) prefer using Electron Slack instead of keeping the webapp open in a browser.
Development time needed to create desktop apps (for Windows, Mac and Linux) given that there's already an existing webapp:
- using Electron: 1 month
- using QT: 2 years
In most cases it's either an Electron app or no desktop app at all. It's simply not feasible to write native apps.
is iPad mini dead?
I'm sure Apple or Microsoft are looking for people with exactly his domain knowledge. Just imagine RMS as the Keynote Speaker for the next WWDC
One issue would be the webcam placement, it's below the screen. If you get the XPS 13 don't make the same mistake I've made, don't waste your money on this POS http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=uk... Linux support is very bad, it uses a proprietary technology. Get a USB-C to HDMI adapter instead.
good ol' Microsoft FUD if they had numbers I see no reason why the wouldn't make them public
If you get this laptop don't make the same mistake I made (I have the Skylake version). Don't waste your money buying the Dell™ USB 3.0 Ultra HD Triple Video Docking Station D3100 (which is not even a real docking station cause it won't charge your laptop while connected). This thing uses a proprietary technology called Display Link and the support for Linux is just awful, there's a closed source driver but I wasn't able to connect more than one monitor and the Display Link process uses >30% CPU most of the time.
Yes, because you can't buy a standalone webcam...
My thoughts exactly, instead of adapting planets for our current form we should try to adapt humans for extraterrestrial environments. We need to find a way to transfer our brains(or brain data) into a machine, then adapt this machine to the conditions of the planet. Easier said than done obviously, but colonizing Titan doesn't seem a very realistic option either. Besides flying humans safely to Titan we also need to fly enough technology for them to survive until proper housing can be built and to be able to harvest Titan's resources.
Please tell me again how this "new" Microsoft is so much better and more ethical than Ballmer's Micro$oft.
At that time open source was "cancer" to Microsoft
what problem does it solve?
it's not rails.
Oh look, Google's 67th messaging app attempt. I'm sure it's going to be a killer this time... Preset responses, seriously??? bwahahahaha, only a socially challenged googler could've thought of something like this.
6 months in jail means free food for 6 months!
