And suddenly the world had no idea what kind of [fruit/turnip/pair of socks] they are.

same here. just now.
Nice work.
Suggestion: Add the new iOS7.1 "minimal-ui" key to the viewport tag.
It makes the top bar a lot smaller and makes it fullscreen in landscape mode. Much nicer for an 'app-like' experience.
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width initial-scale=1.0 maximum-scale=1.0 user-scalable=yes, minimal-ui" />
True. This is different to how Appcelerator Titanium does it - which does build native apps with native components, despite the code to build the apps being written in JavaScript.

I agree. My post was rather tongue-in-cheek actually.
Call me cynical, but it just sometimes strikes me as odd how so many people around the world now rely on a company designed to make money by selling your information to communicate with the rest of the world. Especially in today's post-Snowden-revelations world. It's 'free', but that's how you 'pay'.
It turns out it's a simple DNS block which setting to Google's DNS is fixing for people.
Many people would see this as a good thing.
It's just a big site run by some American company. Amazingly, there are other ways to communicate.
Hallelujah.
Now, give us a way to stop the swipe-to-go-back gesture. Or get rid of it all together, like they did on Android.
I agree. Node.js is JavaScript. Also, the lack of mention of PHP.
Nice job.
I saw this recently, which is related : https://github.com/lgaches/BeaconEmitter
Nice! An image in there bears a startling resemblance to an image I did in 2005 to try and describe what I do as a "createc" : http://www.flickr.com/photos/81073195@N00/2829444578/
how is identi.ca funded? I'm curious?
(I'm also a backer of app.net)
Once they open POST in the Google+ API (even if just for mobile apps, if possible), then it'll be much more interesting.

Check any contracts and paperwork you might have signed. Read them thoroughly and then read them again. Get someone else to read them if you can.
What you are 'told' is rarely what actually happens at a startup, unless you have fully understood, signed contracts.
What is it you want do? Create the same or competing product? Get some compensation / shares / revenge? Or simply move on?
If you only worked on this thing for two months, then it's no great loss is it?
They're still using the Flash version in the embeddable/oEmbed-discoverable version.
As usual, wise words. Thanks. ;)
You just reinforced what I have been saying to people about what I'm doing as a one-man startup with phreadz.com in these tough, cold times.
People are out there building, or trying to build solutions to problems I have already solved on my own. So, now I can save them a whole lot of time and money by providing a solution for them right now. Hopefully this will help get them where they want/need to be without over-spending.
Also, the fact that investors and clients will get a good deal now, if they jump on board now is a good thing, so we can all reap the benefits on the up-swing.
Thanks for yet another great article.
