My name is Kristiana Kocis and I am launching Next Gen Fundraising to provide small nonprofits with free consulting that will enable them to build self sustaining fundraising and social media practices. My strategy is simple: it's all about you. Prior to Next Gen Fundraising, I worked in both higher ed and traditional nonprofits, helping every organization I work with achieve increased revenue and community presence.

I am an avid lover of good food and wine and spend my free time training for and racing in all kinds of endurance events - half and full marathons, duathlons, etc.

Social networking sites: do not pry, says online community 17 years ago

The beauty in social networking sites is that they seem to police themselves. When people see things that disturb them, the point it out to their peers, and if that garners interest, it goes to the site managers. A prime example are "hate pages" that sometimes make it onto MySpace. The community polices and reports the misuse and the page is removed. I don't see any reason for the government to regulate another aspect of our lives...

Beyond Twitter: Enhancing your thinking in real-time via "Brain Buddies". 17 years ago

Ah. I see. Your post was so general that it was hard to determine the application. How do you see this brain buddy system being more beneficial than joining a group that works on the same topic that you're thinking of? Are you on the anti-"too many chefs in the kitchen" bandwagon?

What is the application for this? I'm not sure I see how this can change the way we think. Also, how would this increase our ability to think? Additionally, wouldn't it be better to think differently by having different buddies each time instead of enhancing one way to think with one buddy? I'm a fan of variety...

Be Relentlessly Resourceful 17 years ago

What I love about the term "relentlessly resourceful" is that it celebrates that it's OK to not have all the answers yourself. It also really plays into the fact that everyone is moving their lives online and we are all become resources to one another. In that one is "relentlessly resourceful" is that they have a network that they can tap into when they do not have the answers, but know where they can go to get the answers. Whether you are starting up or breaking through in a large corporation, resourcefulness is always going to be your best bet. Thanks for putting it so eloquently!
